I remember when I was young, we don't know about Mother's Day or father's day. what we all know is Christmas and New uear only. But now, through the modern technology, through social media, many had been informed about this special occassions and we see many ways people celebrate special days, just like mother's Day. Some planned for vacation, some planned for a surprise party, some are pranking their mother, some really give effort to give a valuable present to their mother. But some just good in showing the world but in reality, they left their mother alone... This mother:s day, I have no special gift to my mother but everyday I make sure she is okay. My mother is not perfect, she once made mistake but we accepted her and love her more. So, I wrote a poem for her to express my heartfelt gratitude to all her effort, sacrifices and her unconditional love to us.
T
MOTHER, THE GREAT PRETENDER
While she was young and beautiful
She dreamed for a life that is bountiful
She wished to become the princess
Live life to the fullest
A man came into her life
He promised to her to be a happy wife
He said in his vow to love her forever
Make her every days happier
Month after, she feel uncomfortable
Her mood easy to alter
The Doctor said, "you are now a mother"
The beginning of reality to her.
While her belly become bigger
Skin color and tone become darker
She is worried her husband despise her
But she act like she is okay and better
When she is alone in the house,
When nobody help her in her tasks
She pretend she is strong
But her heart is longing for helper
When her husband come home,
She make sure, food is on the table
She pretend she is not exhausted
Showing herself presentable
When her children don't behave at her,
And never listen to her instruction,
She pretend she is a monster
But deep inside, she is an angel.
To all of us, let us love our mothers
Their genuine love and care molds us
Leading us, guiding us and protecting us
From their mistakes from the past
