When I first saw the question starting from 40years ago, I almost thought this week's questions isn't for me since I'm still a baby haha but I read on and saw that @joanstewart made sure to include every lady to give their response.
Even though I'm just above 20, I could still remember a lot things that have changed over the years as I grew up.
I think the world changes more with the women than with the men, most of the memories I do have now from 20 years ago are all about women and their transformation in different categories and styles.
While fashion is the most obvious change that have happened through the years, there are a lot more others but I'll be focusing more on one of them that I remember clearly and so happy to witness so much changes about it nowadays.
Women were mostly married for the kitchen and their family back then...
Well, if I'm to be very honest, there were more lasting marriages back then because of this. Women always had time for their kids and prepare fresh meals for their husbands while they are out for work. And this is because women didn't have to work back then.
There were few women who were working in the big neighborhood I was living in years back, I actually started to think that I wasn't going to work when I grow up since my dad always provided what I needed. I didn't see any problem with it then as I thought it was for the women's own good.
Thinking back now from this present age, it may have been a good idea but it made so many potentials go to waste while making some women lose their confidence and live an almost unsatisfied life... Well, this is debatable as a lot of the women I saw back then were happy with their lives in their marriage home.
Nowadays, women are married and allowed to show their potentials while they care for the home...
This age is a time where women are doing a whole lot in the society, it baffles me sometimes what women are capable of, they are found in high offices and contribute greatly in different aspects for their country. There are still some whose husbands are against them working but majority are working now to support their husband in running the home.
Even though there are backsides to this change like "having no much time for the family" which is causing some problems in the home and some even lead to divorce, it has also bring in big improvements to the society and a lot more people are working and new potentials are being discovered.
Women now go to schools and get jobs to take care of themselves before they get married and they avert little possibilities of not having their own money for their expenses and taking care of their kids.
Years back, it was always the husband shouldering the whole expenses... It may be a pride to the men but it must have been overwhelming for them too. A little help from the woman's paying job is definitely a good change that has happened in the world today.
There are other changes as I had said and you must have known but I'll like to stop here and hopefully read your comments in the comment section.
