This was one of the question put up by @ladiesofhive community. The contest is already closed and I missed it, but the question is so interesting that I cannot resist responding to one of the many questions that were put up in the contest.
So the question comes to " What is it that I love most about being ME"
I have always felt very proud of being a Woman. I feel that being a Woman is a blessing, the biggest blessing that a Woman has received from the Universe is to create a Life within her. Many women underestimate their power, but they do not realize that if the Universe herself has chosen a Woman to create life within her, then how much power a woman must be holding within her.
Over a period of time, and that will be from centuries the male power has tried to prove their dominance. In many ways they have tried to prove that the Women are inferior to them. They have tried to always give woman the 2nd place and they taking the 1st. The very fact that they keep talking about equality is because they believe that the women is inferior and they need to rise up. In many cultures and religions also specific rules are laid out for woman separately.
I had once visited a religious place, I do not want to name it, nor do I want to make it controversial. But the place had 2 separate prayer halls. One for men and the other for women. The Male room was very fancily decorated. The Architecture and the design was just class apart, whereas the women prayer room was as simple as possible. One could immediately see that difference. This is the way the society operates.
In Indian culture also there are many restrictions for woman. In the olden days there was a ritual of SATI, which was if a husband died, the wife would had to burn herself alive in a ritual, but the opposite would never happen, rather the man would be able to get married again. The man can have multiple wives, woman cannot have multiple husbands.
All of these rules have been imposed over centuries and it is because in the early times the man knew how powerful could a woman be and their ego would never allow them. The Rapes and all is nothing new and the problems of modern day society, they have been there since ages, done with the intention of keeping the woman in their control.
Today also many Man talk about Women empowerment, but at home still they would have limitations for their own woman. I will say Hypocrisy to it's best. I believe that the equality will exist when there would be no need for women empowerment to be done. When everything is equal there is no reason for any campaigns and awareness.
But thankfully I have had a real genuine man in my life, who has always made me believe that I am equal to him and in someway even superior then him. Rather there has been never and differentiation. And I personally can vouch for it that woman are much stronger in many ways. Specially when it comes to Emotional and Mental strength.
2 years back when I was sick for a long period of time with my back issues, I would still carry out all my day routines and I would never want people to fuss around me. I would go for my hospital visits alone, do everything by myself. But the same for my hubby when he was sick in the beginning part of the year, I had to be with him 24x7, the times I am not around him, he would go low. And we both laugh at this also, he agrees that he cannot manage the challenges by himself.
I believe that every woman has this power, they can stretch to any limits and if they decide on something they can just prove it. The endurance power of a woman is much more then the physical strength of a man. A man may be just physically strong but inside they are empty boxes.
The most important thing I love about being a Woman is that the Woman has this most wonderful gift of the Universe to become a Mother. The Mother feels the growth of her baby from a seed to full form baby every single day for the 9 months and that is the most beautiful feeling and part of her being a Woman.
Man forget that to bring in a balance in life both the Masculine and Feminine energies are equally important and needs to be nurtured. They live on this Planet which is called Mother Earth, who gives them all the elements to nurture life. Being Feminine is not weak, rather it is more about connecting with the core of our Creator herself.
An identity which is so much connected with Mother Earth and the Universe so directly, who would not want to be part of that and that is what being a Woman is all about.
