Life they say is a continuous cycle of growth. We all wake up from bed and head out there each day because we want to achieve something be it a goal we have set for ourselves or something else. Everyone craves growth and anyone who doesn’t wish to grow in life might as well be dead because one purpose of life is growth. We all want to be able to look back two years or ten years later and see how much we have accomplished and be proud of our journey. Life isn’t always a bed of roses. There’s going to be bad days and there’s also going to be good days. The beauty of all this is that, we always have hope that the sun will shine after the rain pours.
I’ve made so many mistakes in life just like everyone out there. But what sets me apart from others is how I use those mistakes to build myself. I’ve seen people beating themselves up just because they made a mistake. I get that some things cannot be undone, but are you going to be hard on yourself forever because of this, obviously not. I’ve been there before, I’ve made mistakes I knew I could have avoided but I still did it. This is why they say experience is the best teacher.
Over the years, I’ve grown immensely in various aspects of my life and the biggest driving force of this growth is my mistakes. I’ve accomplished so many milestones so far and anytime I sit back to reflect and take some points from the journey this far, I end up learning more about where I went wrong, what I missed, what I did to keep the ball rolling and how much I had sacrificed. For me, every little detail counts because that little detail you may think is not important can cost you a lot.
Reflection is a very important aspect of growth and anyone who doesn’t make time to reflect is likely to make the same mistakes over and over again. You may not have a second eye to keep you on track, but taking a second look will surely get you there.
