When it comes to what I like doing for mental escape or for inspiration, I''ll say, reading is definitely one of the top of my list... it's something i can't do without. I've always been that person that loves reading since my childhood days... From reading stories to reading books that add real value to me.
Reading books is without a doubt one of the things i like to do to escape mentally because as I read, i tend to absorb the information i need to add value to my life or take action to improve and become better in different aspects of my life or business.
I like to read a variety of books ranging from books on design and creativity to books on business, to productivity books. One of the most difficult things as a designer and business owner is mental stress... and escaping mentally is always a top priority.
If there is one author I would always have his books on my hand to read when I want to escape mentally then that author would be Brian Tracy... He's one of the best authors when it comes to productivity and inspirational books. As a business owner there are countless times when i'm mentally stressed and I just want to pull up a book to unwind and escape mentally, his productivity books books have been a game changer for me. That's why in my opinion, Brain Tracy is up there as one of my favorite authors.
Today, I will be talking about one of my favorite productivity books, "Eat That Frog" by Brain Tracy. This book is an international bestseller with more than five hundred thousand copies sold. That tells you a lot about how good the book is. Like they say, numbers doesn't lie.
The book is basically about overcoming procrastination and becoming better at getting things done by taking action. It gives 21 practical ways that anyone can implement to stop procrastination and get more things done in less time.
We all know that procrastination is not a good thing and it is what is one of the major stumbling block stopping so many people from getting things done and achieving their dreams... Like the popular saying, your ideas and dreams means nothing if you don't take action... That's why I'm really glad that I came across the book and learnt a lot of valuable lessons from it.
WIth that said, each time i want to mentally escape, i always try to pick up a book to read and in my opinion, there's no better book to read than books by Brain Tracy. I'll have to say, eat that frog is impacted me positively and i'm really glad i've been able to drastically reduce procrastination... even though it is really really hard to not procrastinate as a human, but i try to reduce it to the bare minimum and take action as fast as possible.
