I have come across some people who claimed not to have taken even paracetamol drug from year to year; that means no fever nor any kind of sickness all through the year. Well I don't have such grace nor belong to that categories of people because I do feel sick atimes. In as much as I don't like falling sick, most times I feel unwell especially when I undergo lost of stress and this brings me to answering question one in this week's contest.
- Feeling under the weather? A bowl of hot Chicken Soup does it for me, maybe sprinkled with bacon bits. What food makes you feel better when you are feeling sick?
I don't normally have appetite to eat whenever I am not feeling well but NOT at the sight of fried rice ππ.
I so much love this food to the extent of preparing the dish every week in my house. Maybe because of its amazing color and veggies that normally attracts me just maybe. I can eat it with any type of meat but prefer it served hot!
I remember the last time I got sick and was admitted at Lagos State teaching hospital here in Nigeria, one of the hospital rule is that they don't accept food from outside wether from your home or you bought it. Patient only eat food prepared by the hospital chefs. My first three days in that hospital there was nothing like fried rice π, I kept craving for the food but no way and I wasn't given the chance to choose my preferred menu so I decided to break the rule and told my husband to go buy me fried rice with chicken outside and sneak it inside for me. He did and at the sight of the food, I became 50% well π, you needed to see me rushing the food and hiding at the same time and just when I ate it half way, a nurse showed up , she quickly carried the food away from me and I watched her trashed it in the binπ. It was a sad experience for me, she said I want her to loose her job by allowing me to eat outside food, it was as serious as that but I was a bit happy I tasted my choice food before the incidence.
It was not so long and I got discharged , went home and enjoyed my fried rice more often as I wished until I totally recovered and had appetite for other food. I also love taking cold tea with biscuits anytime I am feeling unwell.
It has a way of calming my body system so fast. Health is indeed wealth, as humans we feel so uneasy achieving our daily task each time sickness come knocking at the door but it's also necessary we fight it by using means that will make us to feel better.
