When I hear people talking about how women were deprived of education in the later part of the 20th century, I can’t relate much to it because every woman around me were educated and working class when I was born.
Now being the 21st century, learning can be done anywhere and at anytime. Distant learning has been every helpful, there are open universities, sandwiched programs, certificate courses and diplomas.
Women are found in every sector of education right now.
The female child can study any course and attain any height although some sectors are still predominated by men which isn't an issue because our physical strength isn't wired the same. The use of machines will probably give us an edge in the near future.
Women circumcision (female genital mutilation) was a great deal in some part of my ethnic group. The female child will be circumcised before her first menstrual flow because they believed that any female who doesn't take part in it will be wayward.
The complications led to the death of many young women who would have been an asset to our country. Those parents who got a glimpse of the aftermath resolved to marrying their children out at a tender age.
Education, enlightenment and exposure brought this to an end roughly 20 years ago. When these stories were told, a mixture of emotions are all that'll be left in you. You'll be enraged for the times those people lived in and you'll be grateful your family was already enlightened before you came into the world. We are free!
Education, enlightenment and exposure has brought a positive impact in the lives of women and our society at large.
Women now go to school and we can work anywhere. Female genital mutilation has stopped or reduced significantly, we can say the same thing for early marriages too.
