If you could have any animal for a pet, what would you choose and why? Would you prefer the male or the female animal of that species?
Way back in my younger years, I always wanted to have a spider as a pet. I was really fascinated with them to the point I collected a jar full of them. I even feed them mosquitoes that I caught alive. Of 'course catching a mosquito alive is quite hard but way back then I was quicker than I am now, so I managed to feed them with live mosquitoes for days until my mother discovered what I'd done. She reprimanded me because I used one of our jars and at that time it was filled with different kinds of spiders that were both dead and alive.
Anyway that didn't stop me from catching nice-looking spiders and there were even times back then when I joined a group of boys in search of hairy spiders under big rocks. They called it a tarantula, but I think it isn't because it isn't as big as the usual tarantula. We managed to at least catch almost a half dozen, but I didn't bring home mine because I don't have a matchbox for it. That fascination lasted until my high school years. And speaking of spiders, there's a certain funny experience that I can't forget about and it happened way back during my freshman year in high school.
It was lunch that time when I noticed my boy classmates giggling. I immediately knew they were up to something not good because what else would have caused their weird giggles? I just ignored them because maybe they're just pranking one of their friends again, but it turned out it's me that they're out to embarrass. I noticed they were always staring below my armchair so I looked down and to my surprise, it was a big spider with yellow markings. They thought I would scream, but to their dismay, I didn't. I scoop it up and they watch me curiously while I let it crawl way up my arm. I scooped it again but that time I pretended to throw it at them, they immediately backed away in shock and I just chuckled at them because too bad I'm not afraid of spiders.
After that, I set the spider free in our school's garden. At that time, I was over with my obsession with catching spiders, but still, my fascination with them wasn't. I still wanted to have a pet spider—preferably a male one. That wish didn't happen though, but now I do have pets and they're cats. Compared to spiders, cats are kinda harder to care for. They aren't needy like dogs, but once they're hungry they'll really rub themselves against me until I feed them. After eating, they'll just leave me alone again and do either their walking routine or their siesta.
However, what I like about them is that cats really resonate with me because like them, I'm also an aloof person. It doesn't matter much if it's a male or female cat—but preferably I like male cats more because they look more chonky. Also, I like that they don't bother or cling that much to me from time to time—except when it's their feeding time. Perhaps the only bothersome in caring for them is getting them potty trained. Thankfully we managed to train two generations of our pet cats, from Luna to Maning.
However months ago, Heihei just got added to our cat family and up until now we're still struggling to teach her where she should poop. One of the unfortunate incidents of her poop mania was when she made a mess on my bed yesterday! I always let her sleep on my bed, but after that incident, I never let her on my bed again. Maybe if she already knows where to poop properly, I'll let her sleep there again, but for now—she's still strictly not allowed there. So yeah, I started with my wish to pet a spider but now I ended up having cats as pets. And as for the second question, well let's see..I haven't got a definite answer for it, but maybe later this week I'll have. So see you then!
