When I think about what I’m truly good at, two things immediately come to mind: speaking and sewing. These aren’t just skills I possess, they’re passions I carry with pride. They give me joy, purpose, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
Let me start with oratory, the ability to speak in front of people with clarity, emotion, and purpose. From a young age, I realized I could connect with people through words. Even when I’m not fully prepared, once I begin speaking, the words just flow. Whether it’s a one-on-one conversation or addressing a large crowd, I always aim to say something that inspires, encourages, and uplifts.
People have noticed this about me. That’s why I’m often called upon to speak, sometimes without warning, at events, gatherings, and especially in church. I’ve had many opportunities to address the congregation, and each time, I give it my all. The claps, nods, and warm smiles I receive afterward tell me I’ve made an impact. These experiences have helped me grow. The more I speak, the more confident I become, and the stronger my voice grows.
The second gift I cherish is sewing and fashion design. This has been a lifelong love of mine. So when the opportunity came to learn it properly, I jumped in with both feet. It never felt like a burden rather, it felt like discovering a part of myself. In less than a year, I could sew beautiful clothes, not just for myself, but for others too.
Now, my work speaks for itself. People see what I make and instantly ask, “Who made this?” I’ve reached a point where I sometimes have more clients than I can handle. From weddings to church services, parties to everyday wear, people trust me with their most important outfits. I pour my heart into every design, every stitch, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone light up in something I’ve created.
These two gifts; speaking and sewing mean the world to me. They’ve brought me income, confidence, and, most importantly, the ability to touch lives. One through spoken words, the other through crafted fabric. I don’t take either for granted. They are answers to prayers, dreams fulfilled. I truly believe God gave me these talents, and every day, I do my best to use them well.
