I can't remember my exact age back then, but I saw my mom having a pedicure and manicure, and I got curious about it, so I asked Mom if I could also have it. She allowed me to get my nails done, but only to the extent of just cleaning them while they had their nails painted. I find the colors on the nails so pretty that they are stuck in my head, so I promised that once I get old I will also have them. Not long before that, I finally had the chance to put color on my nails.
Mom buys her own nail polish and other tools for cleaning fingernails and toenails. They may have decided to just have their own rather than pay for it. I mean, if it's me, I'll do the same, I actually did, by the way. I was in high school when I decided to take care of my own nails. It was so satisfying that I got addicted to it. Doing things so much has its own downside, but I was too late before I realized that. I damaged one of my toenails, and there's no other way to fix it now.
I usually clean my fingernails and toenails once a week, but I stopped doing that after seeing how thin my nails became. I am not sure if it's because of the way I cleaned it before, either way, I just stop and only clean it when it really needs some cleaning. Before, I cleaned it even if it was still clean, but I just stopped it. Even when I put on nail polish, I also stop that. I only put some on my fingernails. Although I missed putting on and designing my nails, it can't be helped as I don't want them to take more damage.
Anyhow, that's how I got to like nail arts and designing my nails, aside from cleaning them. The satisfaction I get whenever I can color it without any smudges is a real goal for me. Though most of the time it is a little messy, it still looks good on my nails, and I am very happy with it, and that's what's important.
This is how I usually color my nails, this one is just my favorite because of how it blends with my skin color. I'm using a particular brand of nail polish called Caronia, it was also my mommy D who introduced that to me. She's been using that brand ever since, so I am. This one lasts longer on my nails, even though I always have wet hands due to house chores.
Look at my middle fingers, that's what happens when I put nail polish on my nails. The first thing that faded away was the tip of my fingernails. And if that happens, it's better to just remove and clean it all and put it again, but with a lot of layers. I really love to put a color on my nails, and even though it happens every time, I will still do it again and again. Because why not? My fingers look pretty with it. Won't you agree? Lol.
I also experiment on my nails sometimes, by doing something like this, lol, I know it doesn't look good, but it's just an experiment anyway. I remember that I got inspired to do this after watching a lot of videos on Facebook about nail arts. Doing it is a bit complicated, and you really need tools to do that, which I lack. In fact, I just used masking tape in here so that I could make it cleaner. But the result is still not good.
Here's another design that I really love. It took me thirty minutes or so before I could finish it. And as for the tools I used, it's just masking tape, tweezers, scissors, and the nail polish that I need.
As for the nail polish color, it's just really a random one. This is the available one and what I currently have. So even if they don't blend well together, I still push for it.
And of course, I didn't stick to one design. That's why it took me a long time before I could finish it. It's kind of complicated too because I have to cut those masking tapes into little pieces and attach them to my nails before I can color them. This is the result of all the hassle. I think it's pretty. Well, to my eyes, yes. How about you guys?
Is it worth flexing? (◍•ᴗ•◍)
Seriously, having nail art is like an added characteristic for me. It can also make me feel so beautiful that I often want to flex the design on my nails. Although there's nothing special about it because the design is just common and simple, the process of making it and what I felt during the whole process are what make it feel special.
I made an effort to design it, it's like another boost to my whole being. And you know what? Just seeing my nails with it is enough to make me feel the confidence that I know I don't have. I love the feeling.
It's been ages since I last designed my nails. I've been planning to buy a new color of nail polish, but for now, it is still a plan. Once I get the nail polish I want, I will do this again and enjoy myself while doing so. I'm excited!
How about you? When was the last time you pampered yourself by doing this? Don't you think maybe today is the right time to pamper yourself?
