Taking off where I left off, with me burnt-out and in desperate need of a break. I had to take a week off of work, which was difficult for me, as if I don't work, then I don't get any income, but needs must, so I did. A week after taking all the wonderful supplements and remedies that my dear friend delivered to me and I was beginning to feel human again. Even the heat, seemed to ease off for a bit. So I managed to work for a week, before jetting off to Ireland with my girls.
It really couldn't have come at a better time, because even though my energy began to return, I still found myself exhausted at the end of each working day. So a holiday is just what I needed and one away from the high temperatures, that we get in the South Of Spain. Oh how I craved the lovely coolness of Ireland and the rain.

The travel to the airport, went well. Once I had my animals all taken care of. Two friends of mine, each took one of my dogs and other friends, of mine will be calling into my truck each day to feed my cats. I would have liked someone to stay with them, but it's always hard to find someone in the summer months, as a lot of people like to get away. It's why I usually stay, that and because it's the most expensive time to travel. But, my mum has been unwell and both my sister and her nephew have their birthdays, so we made it happen.
( The back roads of Ireland, which to me are always so inviting.)
The airport was surprisingly easy going, well until we almost missed our boarding because we got distracted and didn't realise the time and found ourselves going through immigration, with less than 9 minutes to go until our gate closed, but we made it, just. But prior to that, it was smooth sailing. Which with 3 kids, is pretty good going.
The flight was fine too, we were all eager to get off after 3 hours and stretch our legs though. It was great to feel the chill in the air, once we get off the plane, I swear my shoulders dropped, when we did. My mum met us at arrivals and then we were on our way to Co. Offaly. We arrived late at night, so I couldn't take in the sights, but I could picture the green fields in my mind.
Once we got to my mums, I was ready for bed. So happy to sprawl out on a double bed that was just for me. Starfish style. (I have a single in our truck). Then it was lights out. Next morning, I awoke to the sun shining and the sound of birds and cows, yes I was home. Our first day, was spend at my mum's in the house that I grew up in. I spend a lot of time in the garden and would you believe it, I even got a little burnt. I was not expecting that. But the heat was a lot different from that in Spain and later in the afternoon, the cloud rolled in and it even drizzled a bit. I was delighted.
Our second day, we went to the woods, not too far from my mums, about a half hour drive. It felt so good to bathe amongst the Hazel, Oak, Hawthorn and ash. As well as lots of ferns. The air tasted so good and the smell, well it's one of my favourites. It rained a little, which just heighted the whole experience. I was in my element and it really made me realise how much I miss the forest, the green, the lushness. How healing it is, to be amongst these beautiful trees.
My girls loved it as much as me and my two eldest even said they would be happen to live here, just to be able to walk in the forest. I must say I was in agreement. I have been feeling a pull to return to Ireland. It is where my heart lies, but there is still some things I need to do first.
Being in the forest, was just the reset I needed. Tree hugging and forest bathing our two of my favourite things and I'm not afraid to admit it. It just felt really good to reconnect with my roots and get my feet back on my home soil. I do see myself returning for good one day, just not sure when. But for now, I am enjoying my time and I will continue to share my adventures over the net few days.
