Because I've read a post from a lady here in Hive, I thought why not pamper myself?
I usually relieve stress by eating and going out with friends (to eat LOL) or by traveling. I think about making my nails done or doing a perm on my hair but it takes a push for me to do it. Pampering myself with these is kinda a luxury for me so if I feel like it, I just color my nails by myself at home. Of course, the end product is not the best; it's the worse π
I've not colored my nails for a long time, maybe since the pandemic. I did it again with my old nail polish 2 weeks ago and the outcome is really something I'm not proud of.
Because I would be traveling on the weekend, I thought maybe it's nice to get nice nails before that. I also want to see myself good in photos even if it's just my nails. And so, I booked an appointment in a nail salon.
It's my first time going to a nail salon in Japan. Japanese women usually have nice nails and they go to nail salons or do it at home. I want to have nice nails too! But with the money I have.... oh wait, I got an extra last payday so I can afford it!
I've been looking for an affordable nail salon since it's going to be my first time, let's just go with something I can afford and something not too grand. I booked a nail salon in Hot Pepper Beauty because they have coupons and it's the only website I know. π I can book on Instagram but I don't know anyone so this website is a big help.
There are so many terms I don't know anything about so I took time in finding the right nail salon for me. Most nail salons' menu range from 5,000 yen to 10,000 yen (around 34-68USD).
I finally got myself an appointment with a junior nail artist in a nail salon named Tan located near Naka Meguro Station. They have good reviews, a convenient location, and their course was within my budget. I chose their simple course which they call γ―γ³γ«γ©γΌ or one color.
Finding the building where the salon is located is easy but finding the entrance to the salon is not. I had to call their office and they told me to just dial the room number in the intercom so I can enter.
The building is I think a residential building but with commercial offices on the ground floor. It's evident because the nail salon is like a house but they made it look nicer so it wouldn't be like a house.
The junior nail artist was accommodating me and she was very careful.
There were so many things I was not familiar with. And with my limited Japanese, I wasn't sure if I understood her but well, I got through it! π
She was talking to me a lot and I have to respond or else I will doze off. Well, I did. I was so tired at work that day that I closed my eyes for a second and the next thing I know, I was sleeping already. Good thing she woke me up politely because I had to do something to dry my nails. π Can't be blamed, it was really a relaxing feeling to get my nails done.
The nail artist said I could have this for a month. I had this for 2 weeks now and it still looks nice. But my nails are long now, so maybe next week, I need to get this off. I'm not used to typing with long nails. And LOL, I'm a programmer and always use my fingers. It's nice to look at them though when I'm working. π
The color I chose wasn't something that you would usually see me have. I usually chose light or pastel colors for my nails but I had to experiment with dark blue. Plus, it looks so nice contrasting the colors of Autumn!
What do you think of my nails? π
Do you like the color? What color should I get next?
This coloring of fingernails makes me feel so ladylike and this feeling is so addicting! π
Thanks for reading!
See you around! γγγγγΎγγοΌ
