Hello ladies. It's always a pleasure to be part of the ladies of hive contests. This is my entry to the LOH Contest #116 and for the first time in a long time, I'm going to be answering both questions ☺️.
Share the craziest thing you've done in the previous year (if any). Would you do it again?
Let me start off by saying, I would do it over and over again. I have done crazy thing in my life but concealing my friend's location without thinking of the repercussions have to be on the of the list. In the previous year, I had a very small circle of friends in college(I still do by the way😅). By small, I mean three friends. We shared the same educational goals and we're working vigorously to achieve those goals.
Towards the end of the session, one of my friends, Margaret, went missing. Margaret was the only one of us who stayed in the girls hostel. The rest of us stayed off campus.
One morning, the rest of us were called upon for questioning. They asked me if she slept over in my house as she had never slept out of the hostel for a day. The answer to that question was no. She didn't sleep over.
A day went by and things started becoming strange. She left her phone in the hostel, her call logs, WhatsApp message and every other thing that could lead us to her whereabouts was deleted.
It was becoming suspicious. Did someone lure her out? Could she be in danger? Honestly, I was so worried.
Few days later, she called us using a strange number. We had so many questions to ask her but she said she didn't have time to talk and that she'd explain everything to us later.
Now, to the crazy thing I did. I helped conceal her little secret. An investigation was actively ongoing and anyone found to withhold vital information would be seen as a suspect, but I didn't care! She spelt it out clearly that she was in trouble and if we mentioned anything about it to anyone, then it would blow her cover.
On one hand, I felt like helping out with the investigation and on the other hand, I felt so much tension whenever I went close to school because what if I get caught?
That crazy act of concealing her location went a long way to save her life. When everything died down, she came over to my apartment and explained everything to us in detail. The story she narrated was enough to make a very good horror movie. She said things that gave me the chills. Truely, she was in grave danger and if I wasn't crazy enough to conceal her location, then I don't know where she would have been today.
Good thing I didn't get caught because it would have been a different story entirely.
Sometimes, it feels so right to do crazy things 😌
you are to take a trip this year to another place or country that you've never been to before, where would you go and what will you be doing there?
Funny fact is that, a day before I saw this prompt, I was already planning my next touring location 😅. I totally love travelling and because of this, I'm considering being a travel nurse. How great it would be, doing two things I love most, at the same time.
I've always had this goal of reaching every accessible state in Nigeria before exploring other countries and that's working out pretty well for me. Out of the 36 states that Nigeria has, I've visited at least 19 states and I have different stories to tell from the different states.
I realised that in all my sojourn, I haven't been to Ebonyi state, the Eastern region of Nigeria. The state doesn't readily come to mind when states are being mentioned and that's just perfect. I'm from the southern part of Nigeria and never miss an opportunity to explore other parts when I can.
I like learning about other people's culture. Their food, the way they dress, their language, their music and every other package that comes with them. It's always an overwhelming experience.
If I eventually make it to Ebonyi state, Nigeria, this year, I would proudly tour the whole place to my heart's content. Just like many other states, Ebonyi state may not be fully developed but the less developed, the better. It feels better to learn about the unharnessed norms and values. The interior beliefs of African culture has a lot to say about the past, and history is something I love to hear and witness if possible (artefacts).
I know for sure that the Ebonyi people (Igbo) are good people, hence I won't be regretting my decision.
I hope you had a nice time going through my post. Thanks for stopping by.
With love, wongi ✨
