Hi Hiversss!!! @yourcap is back with another blog to share with you. Do you enjoy your 2nd week of 2024? Because I'm not yet done with my 2023. This is a very late upload of mine.
Here in the Philippines we always had a Misa de Gallo for 9 days if Christmas is coming. In our church, we have this what we called Little and Lady Santas. The Santas showcase a dance presentation at the every ending of the Mass. And after dancing everyone put some money to the box based on their birth month. Because there are boxes in the front and each box that was labeled with months.
So last Christmas I participated as one of the Santas. At first, I didn't have any plans to join because you know I am a very lazy person hahaha because in Santa you have to be productive and active from practice to presentation and I don't have that personality. Then one of my friends who was once a Santa before and she asked me if I wanted to join and I just to her to let me think. When I got home I told my mother about that and she wanted me to join, since I was still a kid she wanted me to join Santa. So I grabbed the opportunity to be one of them.
As we started our first practice I wanted to back out because I couldn't get it and I felt tired easily. After our practice, I ranted to a friend of mine that it was a bad decision to join and that I couldn't take it even if was just our first practice hahaha. She said that "You can do it and you will just get used to it don't surrender easily". Then I went through to let myself experience this one.
Since our presentation is always at dawn because the mass starts at 4:30 there's also at evening. At first, it was hard to adjust my wake-up time because I am used to waking up at 6:30-7:00 in the morning. And the cold water hugs me every dawn because I want to always go to the church fresh hahaha but sometimes I cannot take a bath because I'm running late (I'm always late wherever you put me hehe).
Our presentations weren't that perfect because we didn't have much time to practice. But even though someone made a mistake during the performance we still continue and wear our big smiles. Because our goal right there is to enjoy our performance.
look at the eyes hahaha
After performing we gather together outside to enjoy our coffee/Milo with bread sometimes streamed rice cake (puto) to energize us bringing our chikas in. Our day would not be complete without that one hahaha. That would be also our resting time for a little to go on our practice for our next perfect ( our presentation every day is not the same). There's also a time when everyone enjoys the moment without watching the time. That's why we are late going home.
taking a selfie in my phone huh
The little Santas are also with us every time they're so cuties. We always teased them because they were so stubborn. They are very excited to perform even though no one told them to practice they practiced on their own that's how excited they are hahaha.
hungry??
After we practiced surely everyone's tummy was shaking. So at the church, they prepared our breakfast before we went home. And the plates are clear because everyone was tired of the practice. But before we go we first clean the table and wash our dishes.
It's a very great experience being a Santa. Being close to someone whom I hadn't met before, having a teasing time with the kids, hearing chikas every day. Didn't expect to have a moment like that. I never regretted that I joined Santa.
That's it for today. Thank you for sparing your time to read my blog until the end. I really appreciate your presence for dropping by. Have a nice day ahead. See you around!!!
