Yesterday, I took to understanding curation trails head-on.
you can read about it here:
@bigorna1/wrapping-my-head-around
today, I would like to share my first impressions of following 5 different trails of my choice.
when thinking curation trails, I was always thinking about voting for others posts, but my yesterday post was voted for by one of the curation trails I followed and that was a surprise. a good one at that.
I could see the effect of being voted for by a curation trail in real time. more and more votes were coming in and it was refreshing to see many new faces I did not yet have the chance to cross paths with.
so in that sense, a very positive way of reaching new people from across the Hive community and not only those who publish and vote in a specific community (we are beings of habits and this is a way to break free from our habitual patterns).
this also means, new people are exposed to your content, new followers, reputation boost etc.
I have been feeling stuck in 62 forever and maybe finally I have uncovered my way ahead. amen 😊
another aspect one notices regarding the curation trails, is that his/her voting power is constantly active and being used.
it is odd at first for someone who is used to do all of the voting manually.
while voting manually, I would only normally use my voting power down to about 80%.
now, that I follow several curation trails, I left the settings at 70% (this is the settings by default)
once your voting power hits the 70% mark, there is no more voting done on your behalf, until your voting power recovers.
to change this settings, login to hive.vote and press the orange settings button.
for any percentage other then the default 70%, click on the blue text click to edit and change to the desired settings, then press the submit button to save the change. you are good to go.
In the near future, I will continue to observe the changes due to following curation trails and will share here any further conclusions, thoughts, ideas.
thank you for stopping by 🙏
wishing us all a peaceful weekend.
