A body at rest will remain at rest until when acted upon by an external force -
Isaac Newton
Weekends are generally a time of rest, save for people that work on weekends. It is a time to relax and unwind. The body, however, if given the opportunity wants to relax at every turn. Sometimes it wants to take a nap or just continue a process of relaxation.
After the weekend it is up to the mind to prepare the body for what comes up the next day. As most jobs start on Mondays. It has become a day to reckon with because of the frantic race it throws everyone in. From wall street folks, businessmen and women, school students and their teachers, and even remote workers.
The second day of the week has become what I term Monday Rush. The metropolis becomes super busy these days and the residential areas become like graveyards. Waves after waves of cars become stuck on the roads and pedestrians walk as fast as they can to any destination they so desire.
People dislike being told what to do, they take advice but want the decision on any matter to be their sole responsibility. Mondays don’t give any room for people to decide., they don’t decide if they want to take an extra hour of nap except if they are the boss or want to offend one.
This is one of the reasons why I think a lot of people dislike Mondays. Another one is competition some people love and live for competition, others don’t, they just want out of the race. So some people love the rush Mondays bring while others wish it will end immediately after they heard the alarm waking them.
For me, a good weekend translates to an even better Monday. Sundays are a determinant of how my week is going to start. As such I make plans against the week on Sundays, taking time to relax and ponder on the course of action for the coming week.
I don’t have any secrets just a good meal on Sunday and a good plan which involves picking out my clothes for Monday and every other day. Then I set up a to-do list and start checking them off on Monday as the activities begin to unfold.
Weekdays are the best time to horn skills, develop talents, and face challenges that would foster grit and resolve. Living for just the weekend is like living in virtual reality. The fact that the person is relaxing doesn’t mean that problems and challenges are not piling up in the real world.
Weekends should be seen like the bells being rung before the next round of a boxing match. It is like taking a timeout and timeouts are not long and they only delay the inevitable unless actions are taken after the timeout.
In conclusion, I would every Monday you get up to and aren’t reluctant with is a win. It showcases the kind of person you are or aspire to be. So be proud of yourself and put good efforts into your Mondays to ee a better result or at least a lesson to learn from.
