As I arrived in Lekki, the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden hue over the bustling streets. My friend, Tunde, had invited me to spend the weekend at his new apartment, and I was excited to explore this lively area of Lagos.
Upon entering Tunde's apartment, I was greeted with a warm hug and the aroma of jollof rice wafting through the air. We settled down to enjoy a delicious meal, reminiscing about our college days and sharing stories about our lives since then. The laughter and camaraderie made me feel right at home.
After dinner, Tunde suggested we take a stroll along the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge. The view was breathtaking; the Lagos skyline sparkled against the night sky, and the gentle breeze was refreshing. We took pictures, capturing the moment, and I felt grateful for the opportunity to reconnect.
The next day, we decided to visit the Lekki Conservation Centre. Walking through the lush greenery, we spotted various species of birds and monkeys. The highlight was definitely the canopy walkway, which offered a thrilling view of the forest from above. I was a bit nervous at first, but Tunde encouraged me, and we crossed it together, laughing at our fears.
In the afternoon, we headed to the beach at Elegushi. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and we enjoyed some local snacks while watching the sunset. The atmosphere was lively, with music and laughter all around, making it a perfect end to a wonderful day.
As the weekend came to a close, I felt a sense of fulfillment. The visit not only strengthened my bond with Tunde but also allowed me to experience the beauty and vibrancy of Lekki. I left with cherished memories and a promise to return soon.
This visit was a reminder of the importance of friendship and the joy of exploring new places.
