Smart Savers: How I built Fintech App in Bolt's Hackathon

I made my first premium app released on Google Play Store. And it took like more than a decade despite having knowledge I was not able to develop a paid app.

However time does change. Bad days change. You move on with life.

Now today I have power of tools like Cursor, Bolt, Lovable and similar other tools which make writing code and releasing them as a product easier.

I decided to join the Bolt's "World's largest hackathon" recently. And ended up joining some good minds from the X building good products.

So what was the final result?

It took me like 2 weeks of working with Bolt and Cursor to build this. I made sure to do enough iteration to get the code working. It was having lot of logical flaws despite being made by an AI.

I also made sure to save my prompts so that in near future I can go back to the projects and also make sure to slightly update and then release for the new android version.

I already had the finance track tools website up from where the users would be exploring the product. And that's where the traffic loop would be.

Finally this is how the app looks right now.

All journeys have obstacles. Mine too had plenty of those.

I made this app with expo. And that's where I used the EAS service. And while generating the build I created new keystore and deleted the old one. Which caused the breaking at the Google Play Store.

I had to make the changes in app, upload the key and then wait 48 hours for things to change and then get them back on track. Turns out it was not easy waiting part.

Finally uploaded the app bundler aab file. And then after review the premium app is out now in the marketplace.

First time in mid age I have an app ready for the world. I also made a price for that app which is not much but just 2 dollars. My focus was serving the fintech world with customers who want simple app with low cost.

Monetization or nothing is the mindset now.

Milestone reached.

Now journey continues to yet another paid app to be released on Google Play Store.
