I have written extensively in a previous post about my plans for expansion and reasons. in line with the necessary tools needed in making sure this project of mine is successful which includes:
- 1) The space
- 2) Materials
- 3) Workers
In any kind kind of farming, a Land for farming plays a very important role. A land that serves as a home for the livestock animals. like I said in the previous post there is a need for a secured land to prevent them from wild animals and humans. Lucky for me I already got a space though it is not mine it belongs to my dad. it has been an empty fenced field for years, I guess it is time to put it to good use. since there is availability of space there is no need to add it to the expenses. though I still need to clear it up and make it more accommodating for a poultry.
Just like I explained above have secured a space which seems to be the only thing that I have been able to acquire without worrying about budget and all. with the land in place it might seem everything is on set but the land is just a space but there are other things that matters as much as the land.
There are a lot of them but the first one is roofing the premises where the chicken/birds are kept, to safe guard them from rain fall and sunshine, not all types of poultry chickens can tolerate rain fall or too much heat from Sun shine. after the roof is in place the next in line in terms of materials is barbwires to cover the areas where the chickens are kept and also barbwires, cemented flours e.t.c
Though I would have loved to set a particular date when all this will be put in place but the truth is I got faced with a situation recently that put me in a situation where I had to pick between two important stuff. for those of you that have read my previous post this month where I mentioned that I went to school for Clearance in preparation for NYSC mobilisation. though I was really preparing to start my clearance this month till I got the announcement from my school.
As a result of that, some of the funds I have put aside that will contribute to the project immensely has been diverted for another purpose and also my plan to kick start the project in January with the little I have had also changed also because I have to chose between NYSC and the project. well I chose NYSC because it seems to be a more greater priority right now. I might not have a plan due to expenses and all but I believe when I'm back from NYSC camp I can start putting everything in place.
Managing the rabbit farm was easy till their number increased and when it comes to poultry the stress is almost double I will definitely need all the help I can get.
Since the project itself has not been put in place I can't really employ workers for now, hopefully after the project is embarked on then I can proceed to employing of workers.
Though recent developments might have altered my plan but it doesn't change the fact that I will sure embark on the project immediately I'm done with every NYSC stuff I have in mind.
