Ignorance is the act of being uninformed or intentionally pretending to recognise the importance of some issues or information. in some cases it is considered as being uneducated but that is not entirely true, you can be educated and still be suffering from ignorance. it is also known as a state of mind when the human cognitive abilities is incapable of assimilating an information and acknowledging it's significance.

Over the years, humans have been victims of different incident and challenges but most times this things could have been avoided if the victims were paying attention to details. ignorance might seem like an attitude portrayed by just one person but it is capable of causing pain that would be endured by thousands of people. I have heard of numerous cases of road accidents caused by reckless driving or faulty engines regardless of which it is still as a result of ignorance. imagine a drunk truck driver who is aware that he/she is feeling tipsy but despite that such driver still decides to get behind the wheel, the chances of that kind of driver running into another car is very high because the truck driver is no longer conscious of his/her action.

If an accident should occur, the media or law enforcement will deduced that it is has a result of alcohol but can it be blamed on the influence of alcohol? everyone is aware of the effect of alcohol but despite that such individual still chose to drive. based on my own perspective I believe ignorance is the cause of the accident. at that moment it will not longer matter if it was ignorance or not because a lot of people could have been a victim of the accident.
just like an accident that occurred in March 9, 2023 at shogunle level crossing in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. which involves the collision of a BRT bus and a train, lives of some of the bus passengers were lost and a lot of them sustained fatal injuries. yesterday I read some articles about few court charges against the driver which got me really upset. I was aware of this accident months ago but I never really read the details because the images of the events were on display in most articles and it was too tragic to Watch.
After finally reading the details of the accident yesterday, I wish I could ask the driver was it worth it? according to fact from articles I read and eyewitness accounts, the driver was trying to beat the train traffic signal, he was aware of the incoming train but totally neglected the signs because he felt he could run through before the train gets to him but unfortunately he was unlucky, the train got to him before he could cross the train tracks.
According to the survivors, they screamed and begged him to stop for the train before going forward but he did not listen, despite the horn of the train, he crossed the train tracks regardless. I kept wondering one man negligence and ignorance caused that much damage to a lot of people including their families, the worst part is the driver survived and he did not even sustain much injuries unlike most of passengers because the train rammed into the BRT bus by the side, colliding with innocent passengers in the middle. how fair is this? how will such ignorant driver compensate for the damage he inflicted? after the incident he was apologizing in court to the families of the victims, does that count anymore? if only he could have listened, the fatal accident could have been avoided.
There are so many cases like this across the globe, where people have allowed their ignorance and negligence to destroy the lives of others and the most annoying part is that the way they become apologetic after the deed has been done, sincerely speaking it really upset me a lot. if only humans could be very cautious with their actions a lot of pain and agony could have been avoided in the society.
