Recently, I was in the mood to talk to a woman about topics that interest me, and conveniently, I found a girl on my Steam friends list who had previously offered companionship services — either just chatting or staying on a Discord call while gaming together — for fifteen reais an hour. I thought, “Alright, why not? It's quick and easy.” I had hired her only once before and knew she was cool.
Using a service like this is different from talking to one of my friends because, since I’m paying, I have the power to steer the conversation however I want. I can ask questions about topics I want to understand, lightly invade her privacy (nothing stupid on my part). Anyway, I have full control over the conversation.
Over time, this led to some strain because, after the service was done, she showed interest in keeping in touch. She even said that sometimes a friendship continues regardless of the service. That made me hopeful, thinking she actually liked me as a person and genuinely wanted to keep me around as a real friend. Poor me.
I started getting a bad feeling, which got stronger today when I once again felt like talking to someone I see as a woman (not just as a friend — I do have some female friends, but socializing with them doesn’t satisfy that flirty desire). I thought about messaging her again, saying I wanted to hire her for an hour. Then I regretted it. I felt bad. I decided to handle the situation more directly.
I told her that I don’t think we’re going to be real friends. I came to that conclusion after she complained that I hadn’t hired her for a few days, just exchanging a few text messages instead. I would’ve been fine with texting her casually if it weren’t for the constant feeling that 60% of the reason she keeps talking to me is the potential of me being a client.
I went on to say that having her in my contacts makes my mind consider hiring her whenever I strongly feel like flirting. That creates negativity for me for two reasons: first, because it’s a plastic version of something real, and that’s way below my minimum standard… and second, because even though it somewhat satisfies me, it ends up preventing me from seeking something non-transactional that would actually fulfill me.
So I told her that I’m considering deleting her contact as a way to manage the situation. I just wanted to know if that conclusion sounded fine to her or if she wanted to say anything about it. She replied, “It’s exactly what you said.” I answered, “Alright, then. Good luck, and thanks.” And I blocked her. I protected myself from a pretty toxic trap that I had opened the door to myself.
I’d say there’s nothing inherently wrong with paying for something you want, but I’m way too proud to settle for a relationship that isn’t genuine, especially when it’s something that should be very important to me.
The only toxic thing she did was deceive me by saying she keeps friendships with clients, aiming to get my attention. But one is much more than zero. Maybe she didn’t do it with that intention, but I highly doubt it wasn’t. And since it involves messing with someone’s emotions, I despise her for that.
Uma experiência constrangedora com uma "amiga paga"
Recentemente, estava no clima de falar com uma mulher sobre assuntos do meu interesse, e convenientemente, encontrei uma garota na minha lista de amigos da Steam que já ofereceu serviço de companhia, seja só falando ou por ficar em call pelo Discord jogando junto, por quinze reais a hora. Pensei, "Tá bom, por que não? É rápido e fácil." fui cliente dela uma única vez antes disso e sabia que ela era legal.
Usar um serviço desses é diferente de falar com uma das minhas amigas, porque, já que estou pagando, tenho o poder de direcionar a conversa como bem entender. Posso fazer perguntas sobre assuntos que quero entender, invadir levemente a privacidade dela (nada que seja estúpido da minha parte). Enfim, tenho total controle da conversa.
Mas isso levou a um desgaste ao longo do tempo porque, depois do serviço prestado, ela mostrou interesse em querer manter contato. Chegou a falar que às vezes continua uma amizade independente do serviço. Me deixou esperançoso em ver ela gostar realmente de mim como pessoa e ter vontade de querer me manter como amigo genuíno. Coitado de mim.
Comecei a ter uma impressão ruim que se intensificou hoje, quando tive novamente vontade de falar com alguém que vejo como mulher (e não apenas como amiga - tenho algumas amigas e socializar com elas não satisfaz a vontade de paquera). Pensei em novamente mandar mensagem dizendo que queria contratá-la por uma hora. Me arrependi. Me senti mal. Resolvi lidar com a situação de uma forma mais direta.
Disse a ela que acho que a gente não vai ser amigo de verdade. Penso isso depois dela ter reclamado que não contratei mais ela por uns dias, ficando apenas trocando um pouco de mensagem de texto. Eu até falaria com ela por mensagem numa boa, se não fosse pela constante impressão de que 60% do motivo de manter conversa comigo é pelo potencial de cliente.
Continuei dizendo que ter ela de contato faz minha cabeça considerar contratá-la quando eu sentir grande vontade de flertar. Isso é algo que me causa negatividade por dois pontos... já que é uma versão plástica do real e isso é bem menos do que o mínimo para mim... e que ainda sacia um pouco, mas acaba me impedindo de buscar algo que não seja financeiramente transacional, que me sacie de verdade.
Aí contei que eu considero excluir o contato como forma de gerenciar a situação. Que só quero saber se essa conclusão está ótima para ela ou se ela quer interferir nisso. Ela respondeu: "é exatamente isso que você falou". Respondi: "beleza, então boa sorte e valeu". E bloqueei. Me protegi de uma armadilha bem tóxica para a qual eu tinha aberto a porta.
Eu diria que não tem nada de errado propriamente dito em pagar por algo que você quer, mas eu sou orgulhoso demais para me contentar com uma relação que não é genuína no lugar de algo que deveria ser muito importante para mim.
Única coisa tóxica que ela fez foi ludibriar dizendo que mantém amizade com clientes afim disso me despertar atenção. Mas uma é bem mais que zero. Pode ser que ela não tenha feito com essa intenção, mas eu duvido que não tenha sido, e como envolve o emocional da vítima dela, eu a desprezo por isso.
