Yes, you read that right. Twitter locked my account and it was based on an assumption that I broke their rules, but more than likely they have someone who absolutely doesn't know American culture much less someone who is classified a minority being a Hispanic American who was born and raised in the ghettos of Brooklyn, New York.
Let me preface this, that thankfully I am on HIVE and that I OWN MY HIVE ACCOUNT and am aware that any of the off chain social media platforms like Twitter are actually the problem, but with that said I don't own my Twitter account. That is a fact.
But on HIVE, I own my account, my community, my videos and my voice. I know all this.
Honestly, there is no doubt they have some sort of algorithm that tracks trigger words and I'm sure that this specific word is what immediately red flagged my account.
Right off the bat, what are my mistakes?
Allowing any entity or person have power over me. I'm pissed off. Why?
Because it's a matter of principle, that is all.
So here it goes. It's so fucking funny, that I can't help laughing.
Ok, are you ready.
Mistake number one is following athletes or anyone who doesn't really make any difference in my HIVE life on what I use for my HIVE Twitter engagement account.
I followed this athlete for multiple reasons and one for being a former Dallas Cowboy, the dude is cool as heck and he was into NFT's.
I actually don't believe he had anything to do with the account being locked as the guy probably gets thousands of tweets a minute and he surely would not have seen my tweet at all.
So yesterday, Dez Bryant posted something about he wanted to start a podcast and that he needs a co-host. Ok, so follow me on this. Dez Bryant is a former Dallas Cowboy who happens to be my favorite NFL team and Tony Romo who is one of the most popular Dallas Cowboy ever was the quarterback of the Cowboys when Dez was a wide receiver for them.
He loves Tony. They are very close and were great teammates. One of the best QB to WR tandems ever, in my opinion.
Anyway, so Dez tweeted that and I tweeted back:
"Get @ Tony Romo to hang for a few 👌"
So, the stupidity of the Twitter algorithm I am going to assume red flagged me for the word hang and because Dez is black.
The insinuation that I would even think that way by using the word hang in any other context than "hang out" in that situation is insulting.
Are you fucking kidding me?
It has gotten to that?
Do you know that Tommy Lee was rotating dick pics on social media and that's ok?
Again, it's a waste of energy to figure out why we have become such a meek society.
At the end of the day, I believe that Twitter violated me; because they have insulted me and my culture.
My relationship with other minorities go beyond respectful as I expect to be respected in kind.
I understand the algorithmic bullshit, but every entity should ask first before penalizing automatically.
Anyway, supposedly I'll get my account activated later today. I actually don't believe that. I'm sure they will drag it out.
At the end of the day, there will come the day where those long standing social media platforms will go by way of MySpace and with LEOThreads and all the other wonderful TRUE Web3 platforms available to us on this blockchain - why stress it.
Let's Gooooooooooooooooo!!!
