Este post es un breve tutorial para que los nuevos usuarios que se incorporan a nuestra querida colmena dispongan de información sencilla y clara acerca de Ecency.

Qué es Ecency
Ecency es uno de los diferentes front-end que puedes utilizar para consultar y publicar en la blockchain Hive. En el caso de que ya poseas una cuenta de Hive, en su página puedes iniciar sesión con tu usuario y clave privada.
Por qué elegir Ecency
En cuestión de gustos no hay nada escrito. Tener la capacidad de seleccionar las herramientas con las que nos sentimos cómodos es importante para mí. Cuando me encuentro con varias opciones mi carácter curioso me lleva a probar todas para conocerlas y quedarme después con la que mejor se adapte a mi desempeño. Mi recomendación es que hagas lo mismo, puede ahorrarte tiempo e incluso disgustos si no te haces con el que va a ser tu instrumento de comunicación principal.
Las mayores ventajas que tiene Ecency son:
Está traducido a numerosos idiomas. Cuando hablamos de una herramienta de comunicación es necesario que no obstaculice nuestro sistema. Cuanto más desapercibido pase, mejor podremos concentrarnos en lo que de verdad importa, que en nuestro caso es publicar contenido, leer, comentar o votar lo que nos resuena.
Es multiplataforma, por lo que da igual el sistema operativo que utilices. Incluso cuenta con acceso mediante el navegador web. Si tienes conexión a internet, puedes utilizar Ecency.

Descargar en Github la versión para escritorio. En función de tu sistema operativo, descarga las versiones:

Su atención al usuario es impecable. Para cualquier incidencia que te surja, o si tienes alguna duda con su funcionamiento, en su servidor de Discord encontrarás a alguien que te echa una mano. Allí se ha formado una comunidad maravillosa en la que sentirte acompañado.
Su sistema de puntos. Son su seña de identidad. Si quieres saber todo sobre ellos, pasa al siguiente apartado.
Puntos Ecency: cómo conseguirlos
Los puntos de Ecency es un sistema añadido a los tokens propios de Hive. Conseguirlos no puede ser más sencillo: casi todo lo que hagas dentro de la interfaz de Ecency te da puntos.
Acumularás puntos por iniciar sesión, publicar post, comentar, votar, hacer reblog, incluso por mantener la sesión abierta aunque solo estés leyendo contenido. ¿No es genial?
Ah, si la impaciencia te gana la partida, puedes comprarlos con dinero fiat a través de la app móvil.
Puntos Ecency: cómo utilizarlos
A la hora de gastar tus puntos Ecency, tienes varias opciones. Puedes usarlos para:
- Promocionar tu contenido (también puedes hacerlo con lo que otros publiquen).
- Regalarlo.

Promocionar una publicación
En el menú de los tres puntitos, encontrarás la opción de promocionar un post. Los posts promocionados son aquellos que en tu feed habitual tienen un cartelito azul en la parte derecha que así lo indica. Solo son vistos por los usuarios de Ecency, no en otros front-end.
La cantidad de puntos a invertir es variable en función de los días que desees que tu contenido aparezca expuesto: desde un día hasta 14.
Puedes promocionar cualquier publicación que quieras, nadie pasa ningún filtro. No obstante, Ecency se reserva el derecho de eliminarla si infringe ciertas normas de etiqueta de Internet, las más comunes y que ya son de sobra conocidas por todos: plagio, abuso, etc.
Lo recomendable es que promociones solo contenido de calidad, ten en cuenta que nadie lo votará ni empezará a seguirte si lo que publicas no les interesa, por lo que desperdiciarías tus puntos.
Regalar puntos a otros usuarios
¿Qué haces cuando encuentras una publicación que te encanta, pero tiene vencido el plazo para votarla? Puedes dejarle un comentario, que seguro el autor lo agradecerá. Y, además de eso o en su lugar, puedes enviarle un paquete de puntos.
¿Después de gastar tus votos encuentras algo interesante? Envíale unos puntos a cambio.
¿Alguien tiene un detalle contigo? Ten otro de vuelta en forma de puntos.
La opción de regalar en las publicaciones solo está disponible en las versiones web y de escritorio. Donde está la flechita para votar, verás en la misma línea un dibujo de una caja de regalo. Ese el botón que necesitas.
Para los casos en que te pille con el móvil o la tablet, desde tu monedero siempre puedes regalar los puntos indicando el nombre de usuario del destinatario. Pincha en el flechita que hay junto a tu saldo, y en el menú que se despliega encontrarás la opción de dar.

What is Ecency
Ecency is one of the different front-ends you can use to query and publish on the Hive blockchain. In case you already have a Hive account, you can log in with your username and private key on their page.
Why choose Ecency

Ecency points: how to get them
Ecency points are an add-on system to Hive's own tokens. Getting them couldn't be easier: almost everything you do within the Ecency interface earns you points.
You'll accumulate points for logging in, posting, commenting, voting, reblogging, even for keeping your session open even if you're just reading content. Isn't that great?
Oh, if impatience gets the better of you, you can buy them with fiat money through the mobile app.
Ecency points: how to use them
When it comes to spending your Ecency points, you have several options. You can use them to:
- Promote your content (you can also do this with what others publish).
- Give it as a gift.

Promote a publication
In the menu the three dots, you will find the option to promote a post. Promoted posts are those that in your regular feed have a little blue sign on the right hand side indicating this. They are only seen by Ecency users, not on other front-ends.
The amount of points to invest is variable depending on the number of days you want your content to appear: from one day to 14.
You can promote any publication you want, no one passes any filter. However, Ecency reserves the right to remove it if it infringes certain rules of Internet etiquette, the most common and which are already well known to all: plagiarism, abuse, etc.
It is recommended that you only promote quality content. Keep in mind that nobody will vote for you or start following you if they are not interested in what you publish, so you would be wasting your points.
Giving away points to other users
What do you do when you find a post you love, but the deadline to vote for it has passed? You can leave a comment, which I'm sure the author will appreciate. And, in addition to that or instead, you can send them a package of points.
After spending your votes you find something interesting? Send them some points in return.
Someone is nice to you? Have another one back in the form of points.
The giveaway option on posts is only available on the web and desktop versions. Where the little arrow to vote is, you'll see a picture of a gift box on the same line. That's the button you need.
If you are on your mobile or tablet, you can always give the points from your wallet by entering the recipient's username. Click on the little arrow next to your balance, and in the menu that pops up you will find the option to give.
