It's a Thursday of light activity. I fell asleep in the early morning and woke up a little late today. It was lucky that when I woke up the power had just come back to my house. I had to run to do some chores before it failed again, although it is an everyday situation (and humans get used to all kinds of situations) I wish it didn't happen so often.
While we were cooking, and recording a casual conversation with my brother about music, I recorded a #song of the bachata genre that is inspired by a Japanese city. Although it may seem strange (that of a Caribbean genre and a Japanese town), it is an anecdote that caught my attention quite a bit. And it was what inspired me to try to generate an ad for the Udio website, trying to get the #AI service to generate #Music and lyrics that fit the genre.

It is the song by Juan Luis Guerra “Bachata en Fukuoka” (2010). It all started on a musical tour in 2009, in which this Dominican singer-songwriter traveled through #Japan, where he had several concerts and was surprised to see fans from these lands accompanying his songs in Spanish. He was moved by the dedication and affection that people put into his songs, and was inspired to create a song especially for the city he was in.
By the way, to explain in detail, bachata is a type of music originating in the Dominican Republic, which became popular in the 1960s, although its origins may be more likely to be in the 1920s of that same century. It is a type of music that is considered derived from Bolero, but with the use of bongo percussion, a type of Caribbean drum, in addition to the use of maracas, guitars and a theme closely linked to the romantic and heartbreaking environment.
By the way, to explain in detail, bachata is a type of music originating in the Dominican Republic, which became popular in the 1960s, although its origins may be more likely to be in the 1920s of that same century. The young woman gets off the bus and takes a bicycle, goes with it to the beach and there she finds a young man waiting for her, standing on the sand on a spiral that looks like the one in the drawing on the sheet of paper. The couple dances on the beach, and at one point they rise from the ground and dance in the air. In a symbolic part that plays with the phrase that “the #love gives you wings”, and I found it sweet and funny. As the music video ends, we see how the couple turns back into a pair of old people, smiling and happy to dance together. It seems like a message from a love that has survived decades and can still smile while they dance as a couple.

Es un jueves de actividad ligera. Caí dormido en la madrugada y desperté hoy un poco tarde. Fue una suerte que cuando desperté acababa de regresar el servicio eléctrico a casa. Tocó correr para hacer tareas antes de que fallara nuevamente, aunque es una situación cotidiana (y el ser humano se acostumbra a toda clase de situaciones) yo desearía que no ocurriera con tanta frecuencia.
Mientras cocinábamos, y recordando con mi hermano una conversación casual sobre música, recordé una #cancion del género bachata que tiene una inspiración en una ciudad japonesa. Aunque pueda parecer curioso (eso de un género caribeño y una localidad nipona), es una anécdota que me llamó la atención bastante. Y fue lo que me inspiró a tratar de generar un prompt para el sitio web de Udio, procurando que el servicio de #IA generara una #Musica y letra que calzara con el género.

La joven baja del bus y toma una bicicleta, va con ella hasta la playa y allí encuentra a un joven que la espera, parado en la arena sobre una espiral igual a la del dibujo de la hoja de papel. La pareja baila en la playa y en un momento dado se elevan del suelo y bailan ya en el aire. En una parte simbólica que juega con la frase de que ‘el amor te da alas’, y a mí me pareció dulce y divertida. Mientras va finalizando el vídeo musical, vemos como la pareja se convierte de nuevo en un par de ancianos, sonrientes y felices de bailar juntos. Pareciera un mensaje de un amor que sobrevivió décadas y aún puede sonreír mientras bailan como pareja.
