Let the appeals begin

Our favorite fraudster or Ex CEO Sam Bankman-Freid or SBF as he is known on Twitter was convicted of fraud by the jury of his peers in New York.

The reported maximum time he could spend in jail is over 100 years!
Of course he can appeal his conviction, and potentially be released while his appeal is pending.
And we have yet to see if the DOJ plans to pursue charges of Campaign Finance Fraud for the larger then legal political contributions SBF is believed to have made.
But that trial would potentially open up many politicians currently in office to scrutiny, and we don’t know if the DOJ wants that.

Strategy Failed

I think SBF had options to plead guilty for a negotiated lesser sentence, or go to trial and testify, or agree to cooperate on the federal campaign finance fraud charges for reduced sentencing .- But he chose not guilty and no cooperation.
only time will tell if his appeals are successful and how much time the judge will give him for his financial crimes, as they are sometimes very small.
