It's a beautiful day, and as always, I'm feeling very wavy. Before I begin, I want to express my gratitude to the Ecency developers, all Ecencials, and Ecency Admins, especially my mentor @melinda010100, for working together to build a beautiful haven I passionately call the City of Ecency. Beyond the features and opportunities Ecency offers its users, what stands out is the vibrant community it has cultivated on Hive, particularly in its microblogging platform Waves. It's not merely a place for sharing brief content; rather, it's a dynamic space where people actively engage with one another. It resembles a global working group chat, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds to share cultures and experiences. I've written posts about this feature and many others, which you can find in the links below.
Today, I'd like to highlight one of the most cherished features of Ecency - Ecency points, and specifically, the various methods available to earn these points. Ecency points, the current native currency of the City of Ecency, serve as a means to promote and boost not only your content but also that of others. It's remarkable that you don't need to be a whale to curate someone significantly when you believe they've produced something special that isn't receiving adequate recognition. All you have to do is allocate a few points, easily obtainable starting from 150 and above.
Ways To earn Ecency Points
- Interaction:
The first and most amazing way to earn Ecency points is by using their impressive app to engage with the Hive ecosystem. You accumulate points for various actions, including commenting, using the app, upvoting, publishing your content, microblogging, reblogging other posts, claiming previous Hive rewards, being logged in (heartbeat points) and more. Essentially, any activity you perform on the Hive Blockchain through the Ecency app contributes to earning points. As mentioned in yesterday's post, why not leverage the effort you invest in Hive to earn points on this sleek platform while enjoying the same activities?
- The Ecency Spinner Game:
I discussed this in detail two days ago. You can earn free points every 24 hours by playing the spinner game. The amount you earn is luck-dependent, but in just two days, I accumulated 90 points by simply tapping on it. Additionally, a little bird told me that the more active you are on the platform, the greater your chances of winning even more.
- The LeaderBoard Contest:
The Leaderboard feature of the Ecency app displays the number of interactions you've made through the app, comparing it with others. The more interactions you've made, the higher you rise in the ranks. I must admit, this feature had me receiving Hive buzz messages for three consecutive days, acknowledging my achievement in the number of comments and comments received 🤭. What can I say? I'm someone motivated by healthy competition. At the end of the week, the first 10 people on that board receive prizes from Ecency, including the coveted Ecency points. - Through Delegation to Ecency:
Did you know that you can passively earn Ecency points and Hive by delegating to Ecency? Ecency provides 100 percent of the curation rewards to its delegators. Currently, I've delegated just a 1000 HP to Ecency; I know it's a modest amount, but it's a beginning. After crunching the numbers, I realized that my earnings with this 1000 HP on my own are relatively small. Sometimes, I'm too busy to spend time reading and curating great posts, which underutilizes the curation power. So, I trust the judgment of the Ecency team to handle that for me. Well, as my mentor @melinda010100 always says, it's essential to reserve some power for personal curation. Please don't be like me and delegate everything. 🤭 Don't mind me; I'm just a beginner, my math may be off, but it works for me. 🤷
- Receiving It as a Gift from Others:
As uncommon as this may sound, I must mention that since joining Ecency for about a month now and being active, I've received well over 1500 points as gifts from people who appreciated my work.
- Joining Contests and Ecency Challenges:
Periodically, Ecency introduces challenges and contests where they reward Ecency points for creating quality content related to specific tasks. The current ongoing challenge involves sharing your favorite and most-used feature of the Ecency app. In this challenge, any high-quality post you make will be boosted by Ecency, and you'll receive around 200 Ecency points for free. The challenge concludes this Sunday, so I encourage you to get on board. You can create one post per day, showcasing the fantastic features of the Ecency app and spreading the word. - Purchasing Points with Your Visa or Credit Card:
I'd say that this option may not be necessary if you follow the methods already listed, as you'll likely accumulate enough points without purchasing. Nevertheless, you can still buy them if you plan on frequently boosting and promoting other people's content. For community owners, there might be a way to register your community with Ecency and have them boost some of your community members' posts. I'm not entirely sure of the details, but you can find more information on the Ecency Discord page.

It allows you to smoothly swap HIVE and HBD, manage tokens more efficiently, and every update aims to make your financial experience better. Displaying user profiles during transactions is a thoughtful touch, adding an extra layer of security to avoid expensive errors. Well, Blockchain transaction are irreversible, so this feature becomes very much useful.
Waves: Waves - where I currently live. This feature brings a new rhythm to short-form content creation, making engagement more vibrant and entertaining. It's a space where every interaction counts, fostering a sense of community and connection. This is where I have made my new awesome friends.
A Glimpse into the future:
As Ecency plans for the future, there are exciting things to look forward to.:
Ecency Lite: the brilliant developers are currently working on a simpler version of the mobile app to make it more user-friendly for everyone.
Reals/Shorts: Teaming up with 3Speak, Ecency is bringing short videos and dedicated feeds, opening up new avenues for creative content. This I believe will be a game changer
Ecency Chat: Coming soon, Ecency Chat will be a central space for meaningful and private conversations, enriching your social experience.
