Hey everyone.
Times have been rough. Financially.
I mean, the start of the year I was in hospital for two weeks and nearly lost my leg but in the end of the day, this was just one more thing that tipped the scales towards emptying out my coffers and experiencing a financial downfall.
I work hard at work and then I work some more when I get home. I sleep little. But I have unpaid bills. Financial pressure is becoming more and more acute.
But it is NOT all doom and gloom. I do have a plan.
Day job education plan
Part of the plan is my real life work situation. I have been working myself into a position where I am INVOLVED with with at a higher level. I sort of stick my nose in, but I make it work and I am part of the team that resolves problems and executes the final hand off of jobs.
Then, there is the educational/certification side of my portfolio. I have completed and passed the Project Management course. I am not preparing for a Trade Test which will give me a red seal as a Industrial Refrigeration mechanic. Thus, a Qualified Technician.
Well... let's count it up then, for my field:
- 11 Years work experience in the HVAC field.
- 1 year prior construction experience.
- 8 years prior management experience.
- Qualified Technician in HVAC (If I pass my trade test in September)
- Registered CHSO (Safety Officer) with SACPCMP
- Fall Protection Planner
- Certified Project Manager (UCT Course)
The items in bold above are the new items added now in 2025. This should mean a better pay and better prospects. This should sort out my financial situation.
Meanwhile on Hive
I have been using Hive to plug holes in my finances. I know many people who have "never touched their Hive balance" and while this seems applaudible, it is also said froma position of privelage. Please, don't let that comment hurt your feelings, just hear me out.
Nobody in their right mind would have unpaid bills or have to choose between unpaid rent, no food in the house or no electricity and have thousands of dollars in crypto on Hive.
I have a family to look after. It is a resource and it is a resource that I worked hard to accumulate.
I was nearly at 8,000HP and now I am barely over 1,000HP.
I was proud and happy with my growth and I wanted to be over 10,000HP by the end of the year. I can't tell you how much it hurts me to have to power down my Hive.
But I will rebuild!
I will continue to blog and to gain those internet points. Oh sure, I am going to keep needing to pull out funds while I am not earning enough money but look at point 1 above.
The plan is to keep things afloat and once I get my raise IRL - to pay my bills and recover and to stop powering down and extracting.
Once the financials look good, to reverse gear and start regaining what I had lost on Hive. I believe in creating this Hive reserve 100% because it saved my butt many times.
I would actually liked to have built it to the point where the interest becomes the income. That's the dream.
In for the Long Haul on the Tube
In the meantime, it will take a while to build it up, but the Youtube account will also be built and grown over time. It will not be overnight, but it is growing and I feel that if I should continue with the course that I am on, that it is INEVITABLE that I will be successful and begin to make something, no matter how small on Youtube.
When that happens, it will depend entirely on what phase I am on in the above points that will determine what I do with that money.
It takes a while to get to the point where I just qualify and who says that this amount will mean a lot of money when I manage to just qualify? But I will continue with it!
Summary
I am in a bad place... but it is not all doom and gloom.
I have a plan and all I need to do is survive.
Thank you for reading this post!
Cheers!
