Welcome to Hive! I hope to send this as an invitation to people to join the Web 3.0 revolution.
Introduction
What is Web 3.0? In a nutshell, web 3.0 means that it is decentralized and that you own your own information. It is not owned by a big corporation that earns money from advertising on the website that you use as most of the traditional social media sites.
Hive specifically is a blockchain-based social media with dozens of website platforms to post articles, videos, music, etc. It is interactive and when you vote and are voted on, there are little portions of cryptocurrency being minted that then get allocated to posts and comments.
Depending on your Stake on the blockchain - this is called HP (Hive Power) it will allocate more crypto rewards to your post or comment. When your post is 7 days old, there will be a payout you can claim.
Half the payout will be in HP to strengthen your account and half will be in HBD - Hive Based Dollars. The HBD is Hive Backed Dollars and is worth more or less a dollar. You can transfer this out and turn it into cash or you can put it into savings and generate 20% interest per year!
There are also secondary layer tokens that are also a tradable and stake-able reward structure. These are usually linked to a community or front-end service.

My Goals
So I have a goal to bring 22 new people to Hive this year. Why would I do that? Well, though Hive is very rewarding, the blockchain needs more people! Especially people who are using the regular web 2.0 social media. When has those platforms given you anything in return?
Hive is a gateway to cryptocurreny and financial freedom! I believe that nobody ought to be poor and even if you are not super serious about making money that equals your income at your job, then you can make decent bits of cash almost by accident.
Imagine what this platform would look like when every one of your groups and all the people you know are on here instead of over on the other platforms.
With that onboarding goal, you think I just want you to sign up? No way! I want you to succeed and be established! You need to earn a certain amount of money and have a decent amount of stake before I consider you educated and properly onboarded.
I have invited many people to join Hive.
Some people just sign up and do nothing.
Some people actually start setting up their profile pics and start looking around.
Some of those people actually manage to start commenting. They join communities of content that they like and follow people.
Then a few of those people start posting.
Usually each of these steps whittles away at the class and then I have to go looking for more people to invite.
Usually, once a person starts earning a bit, they stay and THEY become successful quick. Even if they only post once a week, it stacks up quick!
So the goal is to have each of the 22 people reach 50HP staked. This is worth roughly $46,27 at the current prices, R697 is you are South African like me.
You will earn a roughly equal amount of money that is transferable to your bank account while doing so.
How long does it take to make 50HP?
Well 2 out of 22 students are there already. I have not begun making an average yet. But for one student it was 14 posts and 98 comments. I have a feeling that some people will need more, some people will need less.
Some people will be more active and some will not.
In the end of the day, those who are MORE active will earn more.
