When Hive was created and we moved over from Steem I seem to forget how the keys were produced. Was there a mail sent? Were your keys the same keys as you had on Steem? I am trying to remember how it all happened. The reason I am asking is that I keep getting the account recovery notification up on my timeline and it states my recovery account is still set to @steem. It is highly recommended I update it. So to update it I need my Hive owner key. I have every other key saved to my keychain but just not this one.
Also I am a man of one account now so I do not have another account set up to recover the account to. What is the best way to go here?
The recovery method is NOT for lost keys/passwords. You still need your original OWNER key to start the recovery process. There is no way to access/recover an account without a valid key.
Any ideas?
Do I recover my account? If I do does this mean I will lose some of my data or posts.
What is the best way to go about this?
Anyway any help at all is much obliged.
Great platform. I hope you do well. Congrats on the launch.
