Hace ya varios años el L. S. Vygotsky, padres de la psicología socio-histórico-cultural definió la zona de desarrollo próximo, ZDP, es un concepto que hasta la actividad sigue vigente. Ha sido una de las prestaciones a la educación que más ha derivado en técnica, estrategias y actividades en todas las instituciones educativas.

¿Cómo la entiendo?
Particularmente este es un concepto que me causa interés dada la diversidad de situaciones y recursos que implica, tanto de orden material y de relaciones interpersonales. La ZDP, no solo se aplica a la educación, ni a niños; aplica para todo tipo de relaciones. El sostén de la teoría socio histórica es la cultura, el medio ambiente y todas las posible relaciones que de ella surgen, mediadas por los recursos que de la misma se desarrollan.
La mediación, es otro de los concepto claves. Implica todo el abanico de posibilidades de intermediación entre las personas, el ambiente y los medios.
Conceptualmente, para la teoría sociocultural, los mediadores son adaptaciones activas, son instrumentos que no reproducen la realidad sino que la transforman activamente. Vygotsky distinguió dos clases de instrumentos, que posibilitan distintas actividades y orientan sentidos diferentes: las herramientas y los signos. Simplificadamente, podemos afirmar que la herramienta transforma materialmente el entorno, mientras que el signo es un mediador cultural que transforma al sujeto de dicha mediación y sus acciones en el marco de la interacción con el entorno.
La Teoría de la Mediación de Vygotsky
Observen que el lenguaje forma parte importante de todo este andamiaje teórico. La mayoría de las veces cuando se habla de la ZDP, se incluye al compañero más capaza o con mayor experiencia; los materiales y vía o las interacciones quedan un tanto de lado, no digamos…que se omiten; pero creo que no se le infiere la debida importancia y participación en el proceso dialéctico de aprendizaje.
En psicopedagogía, la teoría y práctica de la ZPD, es totalmente igual. Recuerden que el desarrollo parte de principios universales y que, por ende, todas las personas obedecen a éstos. Por lo tanto, la mediación de los aprendizajes parte de teorías cuyas dimensiones afectan por igual a todos los seres humanos. El hecho de que los niños con necesidades de aprendizaje diferentes requieran de niveles de apoyo para consolidar se aprendizaje, no implica que el lenguaje, el ambiente y las relaciones intersubjetivas con las otras personas no sean la base de un desarrollo social y emocional clave para su aprendizaje.
Es el hecho por el cual se apoya a la diversidad, a la diferencia y neurodivergencia como clave para el desarrollo personal y ¿por qué no?, social. Un mundo donde convivan personas con diferentes posibilidades personales es un nicho rico en contrastes que posibilitan experiencias poderosas capaces de satisfacer necesidades humanas y colectivas, desde la variedad propio de lo que es complejo, natural y sociocomunicativo.
La ZPD es un constructo donde intervienen factores de orden superior, que van desde lo colectivo hacia lo personal, porque Vygotsky pensaba que el aprendizaje no es un proceso que parte de lo individual, sino que se producía en un contexto cultural y social, colectivo, y que posteriormente cada persona lo personaliza; no al contrario. Viéndolo de esta forma, el lenguaje, como activo social por excelencia, viene a ser pilar de apoyo, en el proceso comunicativo, donde los bienes que se intercambian están conectados por los significados compartidos del lenguaje y la comunicación.
En educación, saber entender y mediar en torno a los elementos de referencia de la ZDP, es fundamental para crear desarrollo. Por esta razón, cono solo es competencia de quienes trabajan con docencia; sino que todas las personas, por el hecho de estar aquí, de todas las profesiones, de todos los niveles educativos y estratos socioeconómicas, deben conocer esta teoría, porque a través de ella podemos activar recursos alrededor de nuestro progreso personal y colectivo.
¿Cómo puedes ayudar y ayudarte a potenciar elementos que estimulen competencias desarrolladoras?
Debes dar mucha importancia a la comunicación y al uso del lenguaje en actividades cotidianas y de interacción intencional; pero sobre todo a la comunicacion porque es lo que crea vínculos.
Los materiales deben ser de interés común, es decir, aparte de ser compartido por la cultura, deben crear en los participantes curiosidad de explorar por medio y a través de ellos.
El afecto es básico para crear un clima de aprendizaje idoneo.
Comprender las diferencias individuales y los ritmos de aprendizaje.
Conforma un grupo de aprenzizaje lo más heterogéneo posible.
Colocarte como parte del rquipo; no por encima.
Dar valor a todas las participaciones.
Fomentar la pregunta como parte importante de las actividaes.
Son algunas de las acciones que pueden ayudar a crear un ambiente de aprendizaje donde se desarrollen ZPD. Espero que el tema de haya parecido intresante.

Conceptually, for sociocultural theory, mediators are active adaptations, they are instruments that do not reproduce reality but actively transform it. Vygotsky distinguished two kinds of instruments, which enable different activities and guide different meanings: tools and signs. In education, knowing how to understand and mediate around the reference elements of the ZPD is essential to create development. For this reason, as it is only the responsibility of those who work with teaching; but that all people, by virtue of being here, from all professions, from all educational levels and socioeconomic strata, should know this theory, because through it we can activate resources around our personal and collective progress.
How can you help and help you enhance elements that stimulate development skills?
You must give great importance to communication and the use of language in everyday activities and intentional interaction; but above all to communication because it is what creates links.
The materials must be of common interest, that is, apart from being shared by the culture, they must create curiosity in the participants to explore through them.
Affection is essential to create an ideal learning climate.
Understand individual differences and learning rates.
Form a learning group that is as heterogeneous as possible.
Place yourself as part of the team; not above.
Give value to all participations.
Encourage the question as an important part of the activities.
