🗞 Scaramucci: SEC’s Gensler Could Approve US Bitcoin ETF This Year

Anthony Scaramucci is optimistic the United States might get a Bitcoin ETF by the end of this year.

He also said he doesn't believe Trump actually wrote his one Bitcoin tweet himself.

Skybridge Capital hedge fund co-founder and former White House staffer Anthony Scaramucci is hopeful we’ll see a Bitcoin ETF in the United States approved by the end of this year—and he’s basing that hope on President Biden’s choice of Gary Gensler to run the SEC.

“I'm hoping that with the introduction of Gary Gensler now into the regulatory rubric, and my understanding of where he's coming from, although I don't know it personally, is that possibly we can get an ETF in place by the end of the year,” Scaramucci said in an extensive interview this week with Decrypt.

The SEC, however, has repeatedly turned down applications for Bitcoin ETFs in the States on the grounds that the Bitcoin market isn’t mature enough and still very easy to manipulate.

🗞 American Residential Warranty Jumps on the Bitcoin Bandwagon

American Residential Warranty has made the strategic decision to invest in Bitcoin.

The home warranty plan company will also accept crypto payment for its services.

American Residential Warranty (ARW), a US national home warranty plan company, has joined the growing number of firms making Bitcoin part of their investment portfolio. The Florida-based firm has also revealed that it will accept payment for its services in cryptocurrency.

According to a recent statement, ARW has made the “strategic decision to invest in Bitcoin,” with the intention to expand its investment portfolio options and boost returns on cash. It has used crypto exchange Gemini to provide custodial services for the firm's cryptocurrency holdings.

🗞 Former US Senator Joins Binance as Policy Adviser and Government Liaison

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has hired former U.S. senator and ambassador to China Maxwell Baucus as a government relations adviser.

The exchange announced Thursday in a press release it had hired the long-term government official to provide guidance and advice to the firm and work with U.S. regulators. The move could signal a shift in Binance’s approach to the U.S. market, which it currently doesn’t serve directly.

Baucus was an ambassador to China under former President Barack Obama between 2014 and 2017. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives for nearly 40 years representing the state of Montana.

“His experience at the highest levels of government and intimate understanding of global regulation brings exceptional value to Binance and enhances our already strong compliance and policy team,” Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said in a statement.

🗞 Tether Stablecoin Expands Its Reach to Another Blockchain

Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin by market value, is now live on the Solana network.

In an announcement Thursday, Tether CTO Paolo Ardoino said he believes USDT's expansion to its eighth blockchain will support "a dazzling array of projects" in decentralized finance (DeFi), Web 3.0 and blockchain gaming.

Tether is already live on seven other blockchains – Algorand, BCH, EOS, Ethereum, Liquid Network, Omni and Tron – with a total market cap of at least $37 billion.

The stablecoin is linked 1:1 to the price of the U.S. dollar and widely used in cryptocurrency markets as a way to quickly move funds to and from assets and platforms without using traditional finance rails.
