For me, this tree. This tree is funky.
Look at those twisting vines.
Funky.
I love how it frames their front door.
I love how it reaches for the sun for growth and sustainance.
Nature doing its thing.
What ya doing?
Just growing.
Funky.
Nature is the greatest teacher.
Don't believe me?
Show me any invention, any innovation and I'll show you a connection to something in nature that inspired it.
If you're feeling a bit blue, a bit down, a bit tired, I implore you to spend some time in nature.
The only rule is try to turn off your mind, not your brain, your incessant busy judgmental mind. Just be at one with nature.
Listen.
Look.
Smell.
Be.
Exist.
I'll bet you'll come away an hour or two later feeling better about things.
The power of nature.
The power of now.
Forget yesterday and tomorrow. Just be. That's the secret folks, that and don't be an Asshole.
Simple.
Hold that door.
Smile.
Ask a stranger how their day is.
Stop and talk to the homeless man and ask him how he's doing, then buy him a sandwich or a cup of tea.
Just be a good human.
It's not complicated.
The marketers want you to think it is.

It's all bullshit.
It's right on front of you.
Nature.
Love.
Family.
Gratefulness.
The habitual and the banal.
Birdsong.
A human smile.
An old person's story.
Children's laughter.
Maybe this vine personifies life and all of it's twists and turns. Ups and downs. Life and death.
Maybe each branch is someone or something in your life that weaves into your very spirit?
My wife and kids are my vines. My parents and siblings are also intertwined. My friends are also part of this mix of what is me. Importantly though, the core of the vine is me and it's OK to make time for me, to appreciate me.
Is that cocky? Is that selfish?
I don't think that it is.
When I'm the best version of me, I feel that I bring warmth and energy into a room or a conversation, and what's wrong with that?
I noticed it in one of my sister's in recent years, how good she was to herself, but I also noticed how she lights up any room with a glow of humour, positivity, happiness.
I learned that the most important thing is to be happy in one's skin and everything else grows and blossoms like the vine.
