Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to think about the crazy quote I heard the other day!

The Profound Impact
Do you ever hear someone say something incredibly profound, and it really moves you?! Well I did!
The other day I was listening to a great podcast, with Dr. Jack Kruse talking to one of his friends Dr. Alexis Cowan (PHD) about various things in the health, biohacking and other spaces that they both share interests and knowledge on. Jack dropped a real banger in that one!
"Every disease is curable, but not every patient is".
Holy fuck, that hit me like a ton of bricks!!
I have some people in my life that fit so well into this category, it's really mind boggling. The issues they are going through are completely fixable and the issues can go away but they lack the willpower to be the primary agent for change in order to make that happen, and instead look to everyone else and everything else to fill in that gap.
Hearing that quote from Jack was really wild, because it's one of those situations that really fucks you up, in a good way! I think we all know someone in these situations where they are going through some stuff, but refuse to make important and necessary life changes to get rid of the root cause of the problem. It may seem insensitive, but with the insane depth of information that we have at our fingertips today, it is difficult to deal with situations where someone doesn't want to help themselves.
I think this is one of the reasons, among many others, that I love listening to podcasts more than anything else these days. I will glance at the TV a little bit here and there if my son is watching it, but for the most part I am multitasking but listening to one podcast or another. There are lots of things that we can gain from doing this type of thing that's for sure!
I also really enjoy the Undoctrinate podcast, which Dr. Cowan hosts as she has on some really phenomenal guests, where they provide an extensive amount of information and you can really go digging for yourselves to figure out what other kernels of truth you are wondering about.
Hearing that quote above from Jack though was for sure making me think of all the people over the years that I've known that have been in similar situations. For one reason or another, the person didn't have the willpower or ability to make the necessary modifications in order to get over the issues they were having. Some are still dealing with them, while others have unfortunately passed away.
It makes you think a little bit pessimistic about the world we live in, doesn't it? Where we know that these multinational companies intentionally manipulate and destroy peoples lives for profit, and do it without losing a wink of sleep. I think the addiction science is one of the most insidious things out there, where companies intentionally design food and other things to be MORE addicting, so that they can make MORE money regardless of the impact it has on the health and wellness of the people it impacts. These scientists, for the most part, came out of the early government programs like MK Ultra, which then put them working at the tobacco companies and it has only grown from there.
It goes back to how much willpower the individuals that we know and interact with have to change their life situation. Do they have constant intestinal issues? Well perhaps stop eating the highly addictive, garbage and ultra processed food that is destroying the intestines? I know it is difficult but we subconsciously know that these issues are there because of things like that, but we are also bound by our addictions to the very things that are causing the problem itself. What a nasty cycle, isn't it?
At the end of the day, do we have the willpower to change it? Will we hold those responsible to account for destroying lives? All great questions!
What about you, do you think that this is a relevant quote to the day we live in? Why or why not? Let me know in the comments!
