No different than steps on my FitBit. It is the only way for me to sync up with the @actifit fitness app where I typically do my daily journal posts through their interface. There is a setting on the watch that I mostly remember to flip to dancing when I begin my activity. Not sure how great I am at switching it off, and the fitbit isn't smart enough to just shut it off when I'm done dancing. Whatever.
All those days over the weekend at the festival I was easily over 20K/day and just hung out floating the river to get out of the heat. It was so crisp, I'm sure like Finnish waters.
The funniest thing to me is that actifit tracks by day, so when I go to the club/fest past midnight, those steps count toward the next day. There will be days when I will go to sleep already having 15K+ steps on the night from festivites! The struggle is finding time to get more in while the sun is still up.
I do my best fruit shopping at the store 4am walking back from the club. Those are my favorite steps of the week! I got fresh lychee nuts in my random bodega in Brooklyn for less than $6/kilo. YUM!!
