🌞There is something we all have in common: we have dreams and a desire to do things, we have aspirations. We want to create a reality that resonates with ourselves. We fervently desire to change our current situation and lead an amazing life, but, in spite of everything, we are still stuck in the limbo of inaction. It's a feeling in which there is a constant echo reminding us that there is more, much more to what we do every day, much more to what we know. And in our head there are a lot of possibilities that could become reality if we dare to take the first step. There is a mixture of anxiety and longing because we know that time moves relentlessly forward and every moment lost is an opportunity that vanishes. We know that there is a version of ourselves waiting to emerge, a version that lives the life we imagine when we close our eyes. We feel unable to move forward and our comfort zone acts as a sedative that numbs our desire for change. We become complacent and our life slowly begins to become a silent dissatisfaction.
🌞We can remain inert in a period of infinite contemplation where we immerse ourselves in a fantasy of "I'll do it someday", but in reality we never take a real step towards the materialization of what we want and we feel safe because we are in our comfort zone. We deceive ourselves with warm water cloths, where we say that we will do it someday. We are too cautious and our mind can weave a web of logical reasons to postpone action. In reality, we are never fully prepared to take the leap if we only wait until we are completely ready or have all the answers or feel comfortable with all aspects of our lives. We will never be ready to take a momentous step because there are always going to be unknown factors and challenges that we don't expect. And there are going to be things we have to learn only in the process. It's as if we want to learn to swim just by watching from the shore. No matter how much we have studied the theory of water, until we immerse ourselves in the experience and sensation of being underwater, we cannot say that we know how to swim. The same goes for our minds and dreams. It requires that we immerse ourselves in the experience and face it.
🌞One of the most obvious reasons why we don't start the things we want to do is lack of time or fear of making mistakes. Society also tends to teach us to always strive for perfection and avoid mistakes at all costs. We all want to succeed at all costs before taking the first step, and we must understand that making a mistake is not a sign of weakness, it is a testimony of the courage we had to face something we do not know. I remember that to make my first post on #Hive I lasted about a week learning how to use the platform and I was a little scared because I didn't know what others would think. Maybe I'm not good at writing and I've made thousands of mistakes, but that's why I'm here on Hive, experimenting and learning.
🌞No matter how many mistakes we make or how slow our progress is, we make a difference because we are far ahead of those who don't try.
