After more or less a week of red codes for heat (and many others that weren't a red code before that), we finally catch a break!
Speaking of red code alerts on our phones... I already got used to them! This morning, for example, it was a concert of fear-inducing buzzes on our phones with the red code warnings for about an hour or so, as the message got relayed from the operators to each phone.
But since the warning message said the same thing for three days straight, the alarm sounds more like a bad refrain you can't get rid of, but will gladly ignore after a while.
I understand: it's/was damn hot! And heat can be dangerous, especially if ignored. But it's not something that comes by surprise, especially if it's not the first day in a series.
A storm on the other hand... can be equally if not more dangerous, but harder for the regular people to predict, especially in the summer. That's where these alarms would be needed, if we are talking about a strong storm.
Abusing these alarms will only make people ignore them after a while and they lose their purpose.
Let's get back to present.
So far... the weather change was pretty nice to us! No hail, no broken trees, not even what I could say a huge storm. But let's not jinx, I don't want anything stronger. We could use some (that's an understatement!) rain around here, but not if it comes with all the wild phenomenons that often join it in the summer.
That doesn't mean heatwaves/fires and storms/floods episodes didn't add to the pile of issues we have to deal with throughout Europe lately. Some places have been hit worse than we have this summer, but I guess this is somewhat like like RNG in Splinterlands. You don't know where and how it hits or what it favors. Yeah, that was my poor attempt of a joke on a serious life matter...
Anyway... as the title says: Finally, some cool air! We can already feel it, and hopefully enjoy it, if it doesn't bring some destruction with it too. The highest temperatures drop from today to tomorrow by 15 degrees (Celsius), which make it a necessary break from the heatwave. Unfortunately, that's all it is - a short break. Next week will be back in full force.
Yeah, is this the future of southern Europe? That looks bad and it's changing fast. We already can grow certain plants specific to Greece and south Italy and Spain around here (south Romania). Some insects specific to Greece area already moved up north too.
