I was thinking about time today, mainly because I was in a situation in which I had more things to accomplish than the time I needed to accomplish those things. It's a situation that always makes me feel motivated to push on and achieve but also a little pressured which is probably a good mix I guess as one feeds the other and with the right attitudes and effort things progress.
But not always.
Today much was left undone despite a 14 hour working day and everything left incomplete will need to be done tomorrow along with tomorrows' work as well - it's commonplace for when I work away because the organisation I work for tries to cram as much into my schedule as possible considering the cost they incur by sending me out to work away - they want value for money and I don't blame them.
I'll admit to preferring all my work is complete at the end of my working day so I can draw a line underneath it and feel satisfied it is complete (and a job well done) without having residual work left over for the next day...today I was not able to do that so I've got an early morning tomorrow and another late night I presume; it never sits well with me to have work left over that I simply couldn't find the time to complete.
Anyway, it made me think of time and how effectively or inefficiently it's used and I thought I'd ask some questions of you folks as follows.
What percentage of your time is productive and unproductive - I mean your waking hours over a week-lone period. Also, what do you have in place to find greater productivity and efficiency and and how do you keep yourself on track to ensure you complete your tasks and responsibilities in the allotted time. How does time-pressure make you feel and how do you manage it mentally and emotionally?
Comment below on these things or anything in general should you like to.
