Hello Hivers,
As a parent did you realize these? Teenagers today are indeed growing up in a world dominated by technology and social media, and this has significantly influenced their behavior and priorities. As a parent, I would like to share the concern I’ve expressed. It’s not uncommon for teenagers to spend hours on their devices, right? whether watching videos, gaming, or scrolling through social media. This intense focus on gadgets often leads to neglect of responsibilities like household chores or maintaining their personal space. These are my observation.
One reason for this is that technology offers instant gratification, entertainment, and a sense of connection, which can be addictive, very addictive not only teenagers but also us. It also serves as an outlet for self-expression and exploration, making it particularly appealing to teens seeking independence and identity. However, this doesn’t mean all hope is lost.
As parents, setting boundaries and modeling balanced screen use can help. Creating tech-free times, encouraging hobbies outside of gadgets, and involving them in meaningful family activities or outdoor games with friends, might reintroduce them to life beyond screens. Open communication is also key I always try to do these, instead of criticizing their choices, I always try understanding their interests and gently guiding them toward healthier habits.
I am alone in feeling, this way? I don’t know. It’s a shared challenge of modern parenting, but with patience and intentional effort, it’s possible to strike a better balance. How about your experience as a parent?
Thanks,
