A newbie going against experienced players will lose, there’s no getting around it.

And it’s a key poker skill. Playing too many hands is by far the biggest mistake that new/weak players make. If you’re new (and playing hold ‘em), folding preflop 80% of the time is not a bad idea. Stick to big pairs, ace-king, and suited aces. Maybe add small pairs and suited connectors if you’re on the button.
