The more you try, the more you'll fail, it is inevitable...
Yet, there's a secret to failure. No matter how many times or how hard you fall, you have to get back up with twice the vigor, and you must keep on going. Sooner or later, you have to get comfortable with your failures. Because it will take countless failed endeavors, to one day "get lucky", and to finally attain your big break.
And that's where I stand today, a man who "got lucky", somewhat.
Thus, don't neglect your defeats. Instead, put them to good use, and start to learn from your mistakes and failures.
Even better, learn from other people's mistakes. The day you begin to learn from other people's experiences and mistakes, you can then consider yourself among the 1%. Because it is one of the abilities that I consider to be extraordinary, and superhuman.
It is the closest we'll ever get to having actual superpowers.
It has been close to a year since we've started investing and working on our brand Kustomize, a custom arts and crafts shop.
And now, after almost a year, we've decided to take some profits. A minuscule amount, which isn't even 10% of our total revenue earned so far. It is actually less than our country's minimum wage. Yet, the joy it gives us is profound.
Yes, we could take more profits, but now is not the time. We have plans to reinvest.
At present, I can say that I'm part of two profitable businesses. Our family business of import and export, and Kustomize. But, this all came after countless failures; some recent failures, and some much older defeats.
Our family business has seen its fair share of abrupt and horrid downs, and some gainful ups; mostly ups, since its existence of over three decades. Thus, it is a successful business, in my eyes. Alas, all good things must come to an end. Business and entrepreneurship do have their ups and downs, but the past 5 years have been absolutely ruthless. Due to some mistakes, and the economy during COVID, things haven't been as positive as they once were.
Long story short, during 2021 and 2022, we made NO money. Our local investments from 2020 ALL went downhill as well; talk about the world crashing down on us, from all angles.
Yet, in 2023 we've made enough to at least sustain our needs and maintain a frugal lifestyle; thanks to a few solid deals.
Kustomize is still in its infancy; yet, it has been profitable since day one. Profitable and successful are two different things, in my perspective at least. We have a long way to go; yet, if we are conservative with our decisions and consistent in our workflow, then the future ahead for Kustomize is bright.
Yet, who knows what the future holds?
