Ever since Artificial Intelligence comes into existence, the IT market professionals is living in danger of losing their jobs. There have been ongoing discussion on it since many months. Now it is becoming real with the recent steps undertaken by the TCS. AI's impact on the job market is complex. While it will automate many routine and repetitive tasks, potentially leading to job displacement. At the same time, it will also create new jobs requiring human skills like creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The key lies in adapting to the changing nature of work and acquiring new skills.
- Job displacement :
When I was working in the corporate organization, system automation were at its peak. Many organization were looking for lean ideas for streamlining the process. The steps were aimed at reducing the companies time and cost. Likewise, nowadays, AI excels at automating repetitive tasks, such as data entry, customer service, and manufacturing processes, potentially eliminating roles that primarily involve these activities. The rise of AI-powered tools and automation is reshaping traditional employment models, leading to a shift in how work is organized and performed.
- Job creation :
The development and implementation of AI technologies require specialized skills in areas like data science, machine learning, and AI ethics. This is like adapting to changes rather than running away. I remember, learning various application in working days. Just to fit in the changing environment. From SAP to Oracle to other ERP. These help me in adapting to various work culture.
The new technologies in AI offer a space of learning and growing potential. #AI is creating new job categories that didn't exist before, such as AI ethicists, AI trainers, and data scientists focused on specific AI applications. This is where #upskilling is required to boost. The technology world is evolving fast, and one should enhance their Skill to adapt in the changing condition.
Skill > Experience.
In my opinion, the IT sector have experience these type of changes before. From #java to #python to other ML course. Time to time, the IT sector opens up new avenues. Many professionals witness new technology to capture the old previous sphere, ultimately impacting their life, one way or the other. The years of experience and knowledge all gets useless with the introduction of new tech. Professionals were left with either to switch or to adapt.
Redefining what's possible
This is not just about job cuts. It is a wake-up call for everyone relying on experience alone. It should be noted that Skill > Experience in the AI era. #Skills provide the foundation for adaptability and continuous learning, while #experience, though helpful, can sometimes be tied to outdated practices or limited perspectives. Prioritizing skill development allows individuals and organizations to stay competitive and innovative, especially in fields with high rates of technological advancement.
Looking at the prevalent condition, Individuals will need to adapt to the changing job market by acquiring new skills and knowledge to remain relevant. It is time to adapt, upgrade, and stay relevant. A willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new technologies will be crucial for navigating the evolving job landscape.
Do not wait for the storm to harm you, better, learn to ride the wave.
In good faith - Peace!!
