Rural parts of India are alwsys considered to be backward. They lack proper education, proper civic amenities, poorness, lacks of food, clothing and many other things. Many people used to belive that the village people only rely on the farming and they have limited source of income. I belive this is biggest perception for most of the people around India and around the world. But in my opinion this is one of the biggest "misconception" we all have been carrying around. After living in the village for almost 7 years now, I must say, Villages in India have completelly changed over the years and life are far more better.

Recently, I attended a marriage ceremony in my village and was surprised to find the areangement matching as per the city standard. They have all kind of decoration facilities for the guest. At no moment I felt to be living in village. In another instances, most of the kutcha mud houses have now transformed into pucxa cemented home with complete finishing. They make use of tiles for flooring and also for the walls, they made all kind of furniture, and made some state of the art kitchen. Although they still rely on the simple life style with basic foods and clothes. They live a life with standard matching that of the city people and luxuries. Gone are the time when they use oil stoves for cooking, now they have gas facilities, they are not dependent on wells or ponds for water, they have their own boring pumps at home. They drink filtered RO water rather than simple underground water. Looking at these, I was completelly surprised.
I was carrying a different perception all the years. I remember the time, when my Dad used to carry our old cloths and toys for the villagers. Those were the times when, people were not like to spend money on new things. They were happy with whatever they gets. But now, the new generstion looked out for many earning avenues in city and transformed their own lifestyle. Now they prefer new cloth for every occasion. Be it a lower section of the society or upper. It is hard to differentiate between the two. Even though many villagers are illiterate and not completed their academics, but they are full tech savvy. They know how to manage mobile and banking through phone. Times have changed and so does yhe villagers and village lifestyle.
In my opinion, simple misconceptions can be dangerous. Misconceptions are incorrect ideas or opinions based on faulty thinking or understanding. They can be difficult to change and inflexible, which can lead to problems in many areas. Misconceptions can also lead to people holding views that seem silly to others, or ignoring contradictory information. After staying with the villagers I have transformed a lot. I think time has comes to change the old perception and look at the new life that lives in the villages.
