Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate the variety of life in the tide pools of the ocean!

Tide Pool Tales
Besides fresh water fishing, one of the favorite past times that we have as a family is going to the beach! We spend at least one day a week there every week, often times multiple days a week if you could the days that my wife takes the little man out for some fun in the sun. With so much time spent at the beach, it's no wonder that we love spending time among the rocks in the tide pools so much!
The tide pools of the New England coast are certainly one of the most entertaining places in the area. There are a lot of other places to visit that's for sure but the tide pools are simple yet so diverse in the things that are there!
I caught some type of life in it's early stages here! I don't know what these are specifically besides shells but it was really cool to see the precursor starting to form here!
With the summertime months, one of the things that's definitely going on is everything is trying as quickly and hard as it can to reproduce as much as possible! Lol there were eggs all over the place. This bunch here, I have no idea what it was but it was definitely a clump of eggs that was trying to get it's way out there to hatch. It was kind of slimy! Lol
The little man found this one here. He's an expert at flipping rocks to look for the treasures underneath them like crabs and all sorts of other stuff. What we found here was a bunch of sand worms of some kind!
I'm used to seeing the sand worms when they are... well in the sand! Lol. I didn't know they attached to the bottoms of rocks when they are trying to reproduce but I guess it makes sense, it keeps them hidden and protected while they are grabbing things to eat from the surf that's floating on by.
What was cool was this here. I haven't found these yet this year! What these right here were Rock Gunnel eggs I believe they were. There was a class that we took last year where they explained some of the things in the area and this was one of the more interesting finds and species that lived around here. The rock gunnel is something that looks like an eel but it's different in that it's got some little feet to them! Lol they are great but hard to catch for sure! You can also see some nice looking Limpitz, the little shell right below the eggs. We've seen a lot of those but they have some of the coolest shell colors I've ever seen!
