I love how peaceful and calm waking up in the province seems like. Thankfully, the sun is rising. For these past few days, it has always been raining. And yes, coffee is always a great beverage to start a day. Since I had not planned out that day, I decided to roam around the house. While roaming, I have witnessed how abundant our backyard was. There, I saw banana plants, lemon, calamansi and chili plants.

At the side of our house, there I saw gabi crops and bananas which my father had just harvested so that we would be able to take them to the city when we came back.
I really appreciate the hard work of my father in planting all of these. Having all of these crops planted in the backyard will also serve as a source of income for the family. If there is much to harvest, my father would share a portion with the owner of the land (we just rented the land) and the rest would be sold to the market. Indeed, planting different crops is my father's favorite thing to do. Nature is such a good provider as well.
I walked a few steps around the house and there I saw a lot of coconut trees bearing a lot of fruit on them.

So we decided to make buko lamaw.
Lamaw is a Filipino term used when referring to mixing different ingredients in one container, the same as salad and halo-halo but differs in some ways. Since we are referring to buko lamaw, it means that the buko strips are mixed together with other ingredients to enhance its natural flavors. Some of the ingredients added are biscuits, orange soda and condensed milk. Others make it as dessert after meals, while some drink it during snacks and break time.
So, I asked my brother to get some coconuts and promised that I would be the one to take care of the expense of the other ingredients. He agreed and started climbing up to get some coconuts.
After the coconut had been gathered, my siblings started slicing one by one. At first, we decided to separate the water and the coconut strips, but eventually we decided to mix them all together, since that is exactly the purpose of lamaw - mixing all together.

You can directly enjoy your buko lamaw with its natural juice and the buko. But for us, we want to add extra ingredients to make the drinks flavorsome
INGREDIENTS (my choice)
•1 can condensed milk
•biscuits - Rebisco Crackers or Skyflakes (any biscuits preferably no filling)
•Orange Soda - 1 bottle (optional)
PROCEDURES
It is just so quick and easy. I prepared both the juice and the buko strips, mixing them all together. While preparing, I noticed that there were small particles floating, so I filtered them out.
Open the condensed milk and pour it into the mixture.
Crack the biscuits into small particles and add them to the mixture.

4.Stir well the mixtures and put ice cubes.
5.Serve your buko juice and enjoy! It is so healthy and refreshing.
It is just one of the things I loved about having life in the province. Here in the city, buko lamaw is sold for 30 pesos per bottle, while in the province it's unlimited, it is your tummy that will stop you for having too much. Surely, I will try it again when I go back to the province.
After, enjoying my buko Lamaw. I continued my strolling and here are some other interesting things I have captured.

That's all for today's episode hivers. If you can have the chance to be in your provinces, definitely making buko lamaw is a must-try experience and make sure to explore the nature arounds you.🤗🥰
