My balcony is not always the prettiest and cleanest. I don't remove dry flowers as soon as they start to fade. I wait...
I wait for the seed pods to and new seeds to form . That is if I am lucky and some hungry pollinator (or wind) does the job. And then of course I shoot them.
Only after that I clean all the mess.
This is Candytuft. Some years ago I picked some seeds at my mums garden and dropped the to some of the larger post where I normally sow annual flowers. They grow and bloom for me ever since. And I don't have to do anything with them, except removing the dry stems. Pretty awesome :)
The flowers on those are purple. This year I bought a pack of white variety too.
Time to sow some and wait for flowers...
Here is a little fresher one.
Next up - Cosmos. Such beautiful blooms and quite cool looking seeds. And another one of those that I sowed once and the pop every year. Less and less... but there is always some flowers for me to look at.
The seeds have some cool spots on them.
And last but not least - Pelargonium. This I didn't expect to see to be honest. I got a blooming plant in a shop to enjoy the flowers and they just started to throw those twisty weird looking seeds after a while. That was also the first time I saw Pelargonium seeds. I didn't pick them as I wasn't planning to sow any. Propagating though cuttings is a lot easier and faster in this case.
Fading in progress...
Gotta love those little guys.
