Today, I’m excited to share the incredible experience we had with crocodiles in the Kimberley, Western Australia.
These creatures are truly inspiring and unbelievably smart. I’ve learned that you really shouldn’t underestimate them!
This crocodile was the biggest one and if you can see from the photo you can see a sharp tooth sticking out, wouldn't want that to scratch the Boat.
Interestingly, crocodiles won't follow you onto a beach on your first visit. But if you start repeating your steps, that's when they might decide to follow you. The most intimidating moment for us was spotting a massive 3.5-metre crocodile while we were having breakfast. It was quite a fright to have such a huge creature suddenly show up to "welcome" us into the bay!
When we first entered the Kimberley, many sailors shared some rather hair-raising stories and warned us about their own experiences or those they’d heard about. One sailor mentioned that you either see no crocodiles at all, or you see a whole lot of them.
