My family has spent a lot of time at nature preserves, national parks, and in the wilderness. We even live in a cabin in the woods. So we see wildlife fairly frequently. A bear spotting though is a little more rare. In fact this one was in a nature preserve. This is a Grizzly, See that hump on his back?
Bison, being utterly unafraid of humans, are easier to spot. In fact there is a farm not far from my house that raises bison for the restaurant industry. But this one was in a park.
This last animal, the clever raccoon is a frequent visitor near my house.
These little guys are crazy. A few years back we had a dog and we kept a big plastic bin of dog food in the garage. Once day we found a corner of the bin eaten away and much of the food absconded with. We were sure it was racoons.
So we built a wooden box to go inside the plastic bin. That night we hear a noise out in the driveway. Two racoons were dragging the bin out of the garage and down the driveway. They couldn't figure out how to get in so they were taking the whole shebang.
Touché, fellas.
