In my recent post, I said that I had to save a small swallow that fell out of its nest through a cat's fall. It was only last weekend, and this morning this story got a very good ending.
Today, all swallows have left their nest for the first time. The adults managed to raise all five cubs. The first flight was small, they left the nest, which is in the stable, and flew to the wire, which is the supply of electricity to the same stable.

After a few minutes, the young swallows became more courageous and made short flights on their own several times. They flew between the nest and the wire, or made a small circle and returned to the nest.
Although young swallows have learned to fly, this is not enough to learn how to forage. Therefore, their parents often flew in and fed their cubs just on the wire in front of people.

Interestingly, in birds, as in humans, each individual has its own character. In the photo, you can see two young swallows that flew out of the nest with everyone, but after flying a bit, returned to the nest. For some reason, they decided they had enough. Maybe they were scared to fly, maybe they were used to just sitting in the nest, and maybe there are some other reasons for this.
Adult swallows did not forget about any of their children. They fed those who were on the wire, and flew into the stable and fed those who sat in the nest.
Look at this photo. Here a young swallow returned to the sun and enjoys its summer warmth. It's just like some people can't do without the beach :-)
I hope you found it interesting to read about my little observations of the wonderful family of swallows. In a few days I will have to say goodbye to them, but in a month the adult swallows will lay eggs for the second time.
Thanks for reading. Have a good day!
