Here are a few scenes from a historical farm I visited recently.
This is a living historical farm where they run it like farms were run in the 1800s. Normally there would be people here dressed in vintage clothes taking care of the animals and cooking pies etc the old fashioned way. But the winter season around here clears the actors out and you can visit just to see the animals.
The first critter we saw was a large draft horse that wanted to get scratches.
Hey you give me some pets, or at least bring me an apple.
Sorry horse all you get are some pets for now. There were signs warning not to feed anything to the animals.
At least it enjoyed the petting.
The next critters we saw were some sheep taking it easy in the cold winter sun. I'm sure they enjoy this cold weather since they have such thick wool. In the summer they kind of pant a lot from the heat.
Now they seem quite comfortable in the cold weather, no panting just lounging.
Some were eager to come around begging for treats, all they got were some petting.
The next character was a large cow. This guy wasn't too keen on getting petted, it just wanted hay.
Now for our favorite critters on the farm. The chickens and a turkey.
The turkey was quite tame and I was able to barely pet it until it realized I had no food and dodged me.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
