In this post you can see some others who enjoy my garden just as much as I do. There are so many kinds of bees around in my garden and some are so tiny that its hard to even photograph them. Nonetheless, I did capture a few and wished to share these scenes with you here on Hive.
It's not just bees, we have spiders, praying mantis, butterflies, regular bees and the green bee or Euglossa Viridissima. Just watching these flit around happily makes my days. I like playing hide and seek with the spiders and praying mantis. They seem to like playing peek a boo with me too I guess. Regardless of what their views are about playing the game with me they do play these games all the time.
The contrast between the color of the flowers and the Euglossa Viridissima is really fascinating. This one loves to be covered in pollen. Take a look at the images below to see what I mean. This one seems lost in the golden dust of the flower, its as if a spell of magic was put on this bee.
The way it rolled around and enjoyed itself despite me showing the phone in its face was amazing. Most other creatures quickly fly away or hide from my curious eyes.
Look at this spider, it looked into my face and then disappeared behind the leaf. This little guys eyes looked deep into my soul, or at least it felt like that.
This cabbage butterfly sitting on the white lantana, almost indistinguishable, yet so obvious. I was hoping that this guy would sit on the yellow lantana near this one but he kept coming back to this. I couldn't get any decent images from this angle as he was flitting away from flower to flower.
Look at this Danaus chrysippus or the plain tiger butterfly checking out my succulents in the hot midday sun. There are others which have stripes too, I love this one more though. These look like the monarch butterfly, but are smaller in size.
This Papilio demoleus, a swallowtail butterfly is pretty common in my garden. These butterflies love these zinnias, they don't seem to care much about the hybrid muti-petal ones.
This young praying mantis is watching a tiny bee on a flower near by. He is dripping wet from a shower a little earlier. I don't see the bigger praying mantis these days only these smaller ones are around.
This is a butterfly plant, which is often infested with caterpillars. I rarely see flowers blooming as these caterpillars eat up whole plants. Thankfully they grow back most of the time. I bought this plant just for these butterflies.
This football lily blooms once a year in the month of May. The flowers last for about a week.
Can you see the sun bird?
This has now become a favorite haunt of the sunbirds.
This mallow closes up like this around four in the evenings. All the five petals curl tightly into a doughnut like shape. A short shower we had a few hours ago has found a hiding place in this wilted bloom.
Thanks for taking the time to read and support. I appreciate this very much.
